An Instagram fitness model was kicked off of an American Airlines flight departing Miami on Saturday night after a dispute with the crew, according to the airline.

Fitness coach and Instagram celebrity Jen Selter was aboard a flight out of Miami International Airport headed for New York City’s LaGuardia Airport when police removed her from the plane.

“I did nothing wrong but got kicked off the plane,” Selter wrote in tweet to her more than 1 million followers. Selter also boasts more than 11.7 million followers on Instagram.

American Airlines said in a statement that a disagreement had occurred, which prompted Selter’s removal.

"Ms. Selter was asked to leave the aircraft after a disagreement occurred Saturday night at Miami International Airport (MIA). American offered her hotel accommodations and transportation, which she declined,” the statement said. “She flew on American Sunday morning back to New York (LGA)."

In a video posted by Selter, a woman’s voice can be heard explaining to a man, who appears to be the pilot, that a flight attendant asked her to sit after she stood to “put up” her jacket while the plane was delayed.

Several voices can be heard explaining the situation to the pilot. It is unclear which one is Selter's.

The woman behind the camera told the pilot that the flight attendant explained to her that the plane could not move until she sat down, but the two other people in her row were in the bathroom at the time.

“We also said, ‘Would you like to get off?’ and she said ‘yes,’” the unidentified flight attendant told the pilot.

“I was obviously being sarcastic, ma’am,” the woman behind the camera replies.

Other passengers, frustrated by the delays, begin to defend the women as the video goes on.

Eventually, a video shows several police officers asking Selter to leave.

In the final video posted to Selter’s Twitter account, which appears to take place back inside the terminal, a woman, who was not involved in the confrontation, explains why she, too, got off the plane.

“So, the thing is, I saw what the guy did to your sister. She was just standing after two hours. We’ve been waiting in the airplane. She was just standing because you and the other passenger went to the bathroom,” the unidentified woman said. “And then, one of the crew members, he just started shouting at her, harassing her. It was really bad.”

Selter did not immediately respond to NBC News’ request for comment

The fact that she's hot is secondary to my interest in the state of affairs with respect to air travel, although it's possible this was a preconceived publicity stunt on her part.

But yeah, why should the emmys / grammys (whatever was last night) be front page "news" in light of more pressing issues facing the world?

She got up during a point when they ask everyone to be seated. She couldn’t follow simple directions. Then, when someone from the crew asked if she wanted off the plane, she said “yes” and they accommodated her.

She does have a nice body but apparently she is pretty dumb, as she was on her flight and got herself ejected.

How much sympathy? Zero sympathy.

Enjoy your watermelon drink with that string up your butt crack honey, and maybe a little less Botox in the lips, it’s pushing your eyes further apart. Maybe next time stay in your seat while you are on the runway too.

Is "Instagram [whatever]" like "YouTube 'Star'"?

Yes it’s also like being one of the head Operating Thetans here. It’s pretty big.

you guys like alexis ren?

If that's her in the photo posted at 11:05 AM,  she probably caught a chill on the airplane,  being dressed in her undies with no overcoat.

Maybe that is why she wanted to deboard.

That happens to me a lot.  You get almost naked for the tsa grope,  and forget your pants and stuff in the X-ray basket.

this thread is what's wrong with America

Back to reality:  the airlines have brought this "pressure cooker environment" upon themselves.   Is it any surprise that some passengers are standing up for their interests?   Likewise, does it help matters for airline staff to have become control freaks or does it add more fuel to the fire?

Absurdly Driven looks at the world of business with a skeptical eye and a firmly rooted tongue in cheek.

Big airlines are troubled these days.

They claim they're tortured by the fact that budget airlines are cheaper and all customers want is lower fares.

This week, United Airlines confessed that this wasn't entirely true.

Sometimes, there's a limit to the abuse passengers can tolerate.

During an investors event, United's Chief Commercial Officer Andrew Nocella said that the airline was going to expand its Basic Economy fares.

These I prefer to call Sub-Cattle Class, as they take away so much from customers that used to be simply normal.

Being able to use an overhead bin, for example. And being able to buy an upgrade or even choose a seat.

United's Basic Economy is the nastiest of them all. If you buy one of these supposedly cheap tickets, you can't even check in online.

All this prepares you for boarding last and inevitably getting the worst middle seat.

Last September United confessed that it had lost around $100 million on these fares.

You see, the airline thought there was nothing wrong with making Basic Economy as awful as possible.

It believed that customers would take one look and immediately give it more money to avoid this terrible, awful, no-good, offensive class.

The problem for United was that the Basic Economy offering is so nasty that many customers did everything possible to book with a budget airline, rather than play the game.

So now United is whispering that it's going to make changes to its Sub-Cattle Class.

The first step announced by Nocella is that the airline will, oh, now allow Basic Economy passengers to reserve a seat.

By paying extra, of course.

There's even a chance of paying for an upgrade, too.

This is surely a significant acknowledgement that there are limits to what passengers are prepared to tolerate. Especially from one of the major airlines.

What this also means, however, is that United's attempts to nickel-and-dime will only increase in intensity and complexity.

Customers will have to be doubly vigilant when they book and make sure that they know precisely what they're buying, how much they're buying it for and whether a better fare might be available elsewhere -- or even on United.

It's all a game.

One in which airlines are always the bankers.

Airline staff need to be “control freaks” because a significant percentage of the people who fly are clueless assholes who do things like stand up when the plane is on the runway.

I am all for them doing their job and keeping passengers in line.

All airline employees should be issued tasers and riot gear.

I'd like to see them start enforcing a dress code, too.

I'm all for bringing back a dress code when flying. Things were so much better then. The electrical discharge from a taser might mess with the plane's electronics though. A well placed smack with a billy club to the back of the kness is classic, timeless and effective.
