If a quarterback were caught calling plays at the line of scrimmage not to help his team score but to win side bets even at his team’s expense, would we say “Oh, that’s just terrible — but it’s not a firing offense?” Just wondering.

That’s every pro athlete now are you kidding... All they care about is their own numbers and their next contract.. That’s what people don’t get that Europeans do. Trump is the personification of Modern American Culture. The only difference between Trump and everyone else is he doesn’t hide it. Do you think for a second that everything was on the up and up with Biden and his son? Doesn’t excuse trump but still Biden was up to no good making money at the worlds expense. Biden should step aside admit his actions were unethical and pressure Trump to do the same. Anything less makes Biden the same as Trump in my book.

19.5 I think it happens more than you think it does. Point shaving is not unheard of. Even MJ was accused of possibly point shaving. But that’s not my point. My point is that most superstar athletes are in it for themselves not the team. MJ took a way low contract so the team would be better. Do you see any athletes today doing that? Lebron?
