Identify an old show

Forums:

Hi, all.

What's the date of that old Bobby and the Card from the Bottom that has Let Me In and Silver Threads, which Bobby introduced with, "Well if you feel like cryin', well just go right ahead."

I think the tape opens with Jerry saying fuck off.

Anyone?

Bobby and the Card from the Bottom<<

Never heard of this.

Let Me In<<

Doesn't ring a bell.

Acoustic?

6//11/69 bobby ace...california hall, san francisco...

Bobby Ace and the Cards from the Bottom of the Deck...

Let it be me , silver threads golden needles opens show

Band was a dead/new riders mix , garcia, weir, lesh, TC, john dawson, david nelson, peter grant...

Second set has a pretty good wabash cannonball

Theres also the old four song tape "weirs garage tape" from unidentified 1970 ...it has both let me in, silver threads, dark hollow, and a fourth tune...cant remember...i think thats just garcia, weir, sears, and nelson maybe...but neither tape do i remember that intro from...but, tapes coulda been cut back then...

Just looked it up...

No, that didn't have Let Me In 83968.

83968's my daddy,

Mr. warden,

If you can't let him out,

Then you just gotta let me in.

Maybe it's that garage tape.

Ok..here we go...cpl other bobby ace and cards from bottom of deck shows 4/18/70 4/19/70...Family Dog at the Great Highway San Fran...first night has a Dont ease me in, silver thread opener....shows also had mickey and the Hartbeats, Nrps, Charlie Musselwhite....

Maybe you had a tape that had a show, and then the weir garage as a filler, because i cant find a show w Silver Threads (played 15x, all 69-70) that has a Let Me In in same show...so, if you sure it was one if these billed as Bobby Ace etc...those are only three shows i could find...maybe theres more though...and maybe someone else will recall exact show you refering to by the talk intro etc...

Floops, look up 7/4/69 on archive.org

P.s. your show opened w Hard To Handle..w no intro..on archive anyway...silver thread was early, let me in # ,  late in show

Whadya mean THATS NOT IT??...LOL, i dont think they played Let Me In too many x....damn...somebody knows....

>>>>>No, that didn't have Let Me In

Unless Let It Be Me is really Let Me In (haven't listened).

Maybe it's an old New Riders show featuring Bobby.

Floops, why did you think it was the " Bobby Ace ...." band?

(Im still thinkin you may have had that "garage tape" on another tape as a filler)

I've given up on that. Sorry if I didn't communicate that.

I'm also moving still, so busy. Last day.

Band babble:

This is the quarter-to-eight shuffle.

Oh, now John's gonna go in there and play.

Fuck off!  What?...... ya dumb fucker.

Well if you feel like cryin', just go right ahead.

Acoustic show with nice piano and pedal steel. No drums, I think.

Ha...either way...total blast from past with that one!

I had both tapes i mentioned...a tape of the first Bobby Ace and The Cards From The Bottom of the Deck...and that "garage tape" at one time...i never listened to either of them alot, but, i read the info on my friends cassette box just like we d scour over all that info an old vinyl, and copied it all down to my "cover" as he made me a copy...i always loved that band name, and loved anytime Garcia and Nelson played together...

I prob still have those tapes somewhere, as i know i got them after i lost a bunch in a basement flood...

Best wishes w the new digs...

^now it really sounds like the Weir Garage Tape....i know it was guitars, incl steel pedal, and keys...let me get more info on that tape...

Thanks, Jambone. I appreciate it.

And everyone else too, of course.

The Weir Garage Tape, according to some reading, is an unknown 70 tape..it doesnt say it was a "show" per se...just a recording with an unknown date...but def from 1970.

Weir, Garcia, Cippollina, Sears, ...jerry on pedal steel, pete sears on piano...The Race is on, Silver Threads, Let Me In #, Dark Hollow.

("Now johns gonna go in and play"---cipollina?)

That must be it. It sounds like the setlist.

I thought John was a reference to Marmaduke, but I guess it could be Cipollina.

More band banter: 74 show...

Bobby: We  are now entering technical difficulty time, otherwise known as Grateful Dead Standard Time.

Westie's turn. Who knows this show?

Inquiring minds and such.
