Constitutional ban on legal pot advances in Idaho:

Can't fix stupid.

all the cal trumpers are moving there

<all the cal trumpers are moving there>

Let's not forget about those 'Jefferson Territory' folks whom also want to move there without actually moving there too by pushing for an "extended" Idaho border that encroaches into NE CA & SE/E OR. Weld County, CO is now pushing a similar long shot to become part of WY as well. Hard to understand these idiots when they can simply "move" like most other people might do if they become that unhappy in their current state of residence. This isnt difficult or at least it really should not be.

I saw a magician/comedy act in Sandpoint Idaho in the mid 90's and the locals were already complaining about Californians moving there back then.

The magician joked:

"You know why you can't get a blowjob in California anymore?"

"Because all you cocksuckers moved up here"

i have a jewish friend living in Boise.  he loves it there but says there are racists and anti-semites everywhere in the state.

Betcha there are some Retire to Idaho! brochures lying around more than a few PBA offices.

I  remember renting a cabin in the gold country of ID several years ago (Featherville, a friendly town, want angry, try Pierce).  It was full of books related to Mormonism.  On our one full day there (was travelling to my claims much deeper in ID, and MT), we opted to check out the cabin owners new property, patented mining land that had been subdivided into 5 acre lots.  Not much gold on his, but we had a long chat afterwards.  It was his deeply felt belief that dark skinned people were put here on earth to serve the whites, hence slavery and other forms of supression were very legit and supported by his bibles...

what a fucking douchebag!

^The mo's only let blacks have the priesthood 'cause the IRS was gonna take their church exemption and tax 'em. All those land holdings 'round the world?

Good thing "God changed his mind" and revealed it to the "Profit".

Just had friends move up Sandpoint way. They like it - so far. I asked if they had to bring their own white hood. They replied that kind of thinking keeps people from moving there, and that's fine with them.

Being next to Washington and Oregon may render that ban pretty useless.

At this point in the American experiment, any politician or associates that is anti cannabis needs to be fully investigated for links to organized crime and elicit drug distribution.   There is no other credible reason they would be against the embracing of one of nature's most treasured gifts.
Idaho is beautiful, but fuck those antisemidahos.

just for the record, slick, Idaho also shares a border with legalized Nevada.

True. Didn't think of that. Nevada's 22% sales tax is a drag.

Oddly, Utah doesn't have a big sales tax on theirs, just a $3.00 transaction fee per receipt, whether $200 or $20.

The legislature has now made it so it's not legal for Utah card-holders to shop for medical in other states. And flower has to be vaporized, not smoked.

>>>>Utah doesn't have a big sales tax on theirs, just a $3.00 transaction fee per receipt, whether $200 or $20.

So did the heavens open up and god reveal to the people it was now ok to sell cannabis, so long as it involves a $3 transaction fee payable to the state?

In olden days I was a member of a hippie country band based out of NJ, 78-83. We worked the east coast from DC to upstate NY and even had a manager for a while.  This manager got us an agent in Salt Lake City who booked us on six week club tours, playing one joint a week at a time.  Lots of fun, played some cool ( Million Dollar Cowboy Bar in Jackson  Hole) and not so cool (Craig, CO, Boebert country) joints.

One of the most fun weeks was at Gator McCluskey's on Houser Lake, Idaho.  Just across the border from Spokane.  Drinking age 21 in WA, 18 in Idaho so packed out every night with young drinkers. The week culminated with a concert with  us, The Dillards, and Hank Thompson.  We also backed Hank. Since he is dead I can reveal I smoked the cannabis with a Country Music Hall of Famer.

However, met many off the grid types, "everything east of the Mississippi is communist but you guys are ok" types.  Sort of early militia, pre Tim McVeigh types.

Now this shit is everywhere and it is not fucking funny.

No, Ken, but you are close: the churchislature will intercept the revelation that the $3 charge (gasp! It's actually a TAX?!?!) is way too low for allowing that devil's lettuce into the promised land to pollute the pure ones.

But anyway, what is their plan to bar medi-card patients from purchasing in states that honor other state's cards?

That's killer aiq

>>>But anyway, what is their plan to bar medi-card patients from purchasing in states that honor other state's cards?

Good question. I'm guessing in Nevada, IF they honor Utah's wishes, one won't be able to buy the cheaper priced medical, but one could buy the recreational. So it's pretty useless, but Utah politicians don't consider that stuff. They like making "statements", not producing effective policies.

Ken, it was a citizen's initiative that passed overwhelmingly but got watered down and putzed with by the righteouslature. Proximity to legal states may have played a part in acquiescing to the will of the voters. Hell, Wendover's dispensary is 90 minutes away from Salt Lake and legal for recreational purchases. Even had a Republican mormon legislator recount how he went to Colorado and it helped with his back pain. Combined with the opioid epidemic here, the timing was right.

The appearance of this initiative and a Medicaid expansion initiative, which passed but the legislature refused to do, is what brought out liberal voters and (GASP!)  resulted in a middle-of-the-road blue-dog Democrat getting elected to Congress for our district. Without that draw, this year a QAnon supporter took back the seat.   We're back to all Republicans now.

Surrender, people of Boise
