Musk revealed his solution at the World Government Summit in 2017. He asks each candidate he interviews the same question: “Tell me about some of the most difficult problems you worked on and how you solved them.”
Because “the people who really solved the problem know exactly how they solved it,” he said. “They know and can describe the little details.”
Musk’s method hinges on the idea that someone making a false claim will lack the ability to back it up convincingly, so he wants to hear them talk about how they worked through a thorny issue, step by step.

Once you discover or are tipped off that someone is a habitual liar, then yes, it's very easy.
Watching GOP members of Congress over the past four years has been an education of sorts. It's amazing to see how adeptly people are able to lie; not only with a straight face, but with conviction.
But what intrigues me is how the majority of Dems could easily be thrust into the same camp if the tables were turned. If this assertion has any truth, then should we always believe everything that comes out of their mouths at present?
Certainly not looking to "both sides" what's really going on at the moment, but rather take a sober look at who's actually going to bat for the truth. Unfortunately, I believe it's probably in the 10-20% range of Dems in Congress who have a true moral compass (FWIW), and maybe another 30-40% who are decent, but caught up in the BS of getting elected to high office, and the remainder might say anything to retain power ... just as GOP'rs have currently sold their souls.

Meanwhile, a majority of Republicans in congress objected to the legitimate outcome of the Presidential election.
And for good measure, the Republican leader in the House recently met with the man who incited an attempted coup... their agenda? Plan for the 2022 midterms.
