How about those DeadCo NYE prices?

Forums:

On sale today.. clicked on it and it immediately goes to a screen that says “prices may fluctuate due to demand”

today is the day it goes on sale.. not ‘re-sale’. Is there no set price anymore? Is this legal?

looks like $500 a ticket for any decent seat.. might have to wait on this one.

I'm glad I'm in the camp that wouldn't pay $1 to see that band, now I feel 500 times better :-)

What's a decent seat?  I know what those dudes look like and they aren't getting prettier with age.

The middle class knows how to have a good time. Spending hundreds of dollars is nothing to be ashamed of.

lol, welcome to the stock market!

That's messed up.

assholes

Crazy, a GA ticket for the floor is listed as $459 on TM and many available for $400 on Stubhub.

Since re-sale is now an accepted practice that's what "prices may fluctuate due to demand" means.

Theoretically it could also mean prices would go down if the shows are dogging. Chase Center is a big place so I'm curious to see how these will sell, although I'm assuming they will sell well.

'Decent seat' is relative, but I've seen Metallica with the symphony in that venue and also Clapton and I wasn't impressed with the sound, very echoy/boomy, especially for Clapton, but that could be that his show was basically a one-off without a major touring sound system along, plus it's a new building that may need time for people to figure out how to dial it in.

Still, the ceiling is really high and it's a wide building, so IMO "decent seats" would likely be on the floor in the center or in the sections directly opposite the stage. There's actually a cool hang/standing room space behind the ADA row directly opposite the stage in the upper deck that's pretty cool, and other standing spaces up there as well. People will be dancing all over for sure (or swaying on their canes).

$199 for floor & good lower sections, $150 for upper rows of lower bowl and $99 for lower rows in the upper deck (WAY up there but still decent in the very lowest rows).

It's sure not 1978, or even 1988 anymore, but ultimately as always my attitude is if that's what people will pay then that's what the promoter/bands should charge, because that's what the scalpers will get even if face is significantly lower. IMO if the money is going to be there then the people who do the work should get it.

On it goes.

The tickets are now being priced like airline seats. Your seat may cost $100 and the seat one side of you can cost double or triple. That’s what TM means by their dynamic pricing algos. The consumer is screwed. Play their game and wait.

Not sure if I buy into that rationale. In the past, some of the seats would be scalped but a significant portion would still get tickets at "regular" prices. Sure the best bet is just waiting until close to show time but many are not comfortable with that game. People need to get tickets in advance and plan around the event, coming in from out of town, getting a hotel etc.

It's not just charging people more, it's the opaque subterfuge that goes along with it. Money is made off uncertainty.

I wouldn't go near the DeadCo shit show so don't have a dog in this race to the bottom. Just pretty fucking lame of Weir and the Drummers to further facilitate this mode of business. There are always other options if you respect truly your fans, even in the year 2019 Lance. Plenty of bands far more popular that DeadCo do it all the time.

Yea yea we know Mickey, everyone is supposed to take love and light you give us and spread it around! Piss off.

Playin' in the Fool's Gold band.

I'm gonna blaze a couple of Mickey's minis for the cause. Namaste

Blaze on!

Go see the Phish in the Gahden , instead. (Got shut out w lottery, and yesterday, but, we ll drive down for one of those shows...but, not new years without tickets...fuck that noise...but, see ya in Providence on 29th of Nov.!)

I feel your pain

A coup,e years back I paid $175 at Citifield to sit in what was the Outfield

Never Again will I buy a ticket for Dead n Co for more than $50

$20 lot tix for now on or I’ll Stream that shit.

i've seen them about 8 times and haven't given them dollar one.

this isn't rocket science.

As I believe has been said before, there's a reason they called it Dead & Company

Azzhole^^

truth....the prices are outrageous

its booby & the drummers ..oteil is great , but you couldnt pay me to go see john mayer ..it must fun to be rich & entitled

Nassau Coliseum tickets are starting at $35 on Stubhub. There are a ton for sale, listing about 20% of the venues capacity in the secondary market . The scalpers are going to take a bath on those 2 shows. That’s too bad.

^Pay $35?  Maybe.

Cross two bridges? Nuh.

No thanks.  I'm glad I got my Green Leaf Rustlers tickets for the Sweetwater instead.  Ebeth wants to do Dead and Company, but no way in hell am I paying more than $100/ ticket for floor for that show.  Parking will be outrageous and a pain in the ass.  My days of going to San Francisco are about done.  Used to love that city, but it just ain't worth the hassle anymore.

its actually been happening slowly here and there and is intended to limit the secondary market

They are back to business as usual Springsteen put the temporary Kaibash on the the practice but they just waited a few years and went right back to it. From what I understand John Mayer’s manager now dead and co manager is all about this bullshit. It’s fucking tulips.

It’s not scalpers who have all these tickets it’s Ticketmaster it’s a fucking scam to create a fake scarcity that drives up prices.

$35 is upstairs all lower tier seats they are still trying to get $200 you know what PT Barnum said

On the other end you can stream the whole run for $150 that’s not bad it’s like the price of going to one show

>>>>From what I understand John Mayer’s manager now dead and co manager is all about this bullshit. It’s fucking tulips.

I’m pretty, pretty sure that Irving Azoff has been driving this bus since day one.

SAD

Or for nothing, especially if you don't need to actually see Mickey chew gum or Bob teeter.  I've made it a point to listen to all DeadCo shows while I'm on the clock.

And to skip Black Peter.

As the kidz say, I can't even.
