The last tour before I got pregnant and everything changed, haha

I think this is a really high quality representation of those times.

The band was on fire that day

I remember it well :-)

High gain pedal Jerry.  89GD>89JGB through Summer 90 GD.

Loved every show I saw.

My first trip up to Buffalo. Another great show from an amazing summer tour.

Great time. I got some good photos. 10,000 maniacs opened. I remember Natalia Merchant stopped a song and said she lost her focus because she saw someone in the crowd turn blue and pass out. We joke to this day about a discussion we had in the lot after the show. It went like this:

second set second set second set second set second set second set second set second set second set second set second set second set second set second set second............

The Dead were playing better in summer 89 than Spring 90 which everyone seems to jerk over. Spring 90 had better setlists and some real nice music but there is no show even close to being better than the first night of Alpine 89. Which is all weird because I thought Spring of 89 was good but rather tepid and that's why I didn't see many shows in the summer, much to my later chagrin.

I was at Giants Std., 7/9/89 and thoroughly enjoyed the show, the band was firing on all Cylinders.

Los Lobos put on a great set as the opening act.

Loving this right now.  Although I've seen it before, thanks for posting.

Summer tour '89 is burned into my memory.  I was young, naive, madly in love, and dancing to the boys.  We camped across the US with little money, without a care in the world, except how to get to the next gig.  '89 was my personal summer of love.

This show was hot!!

Nice. You were up close to Jerry that show, Trailhead.

Jerry's ponytail tour.

89 was a big year for me only missed a handful that whole year

good times so long ago

I was young and didn't mind being crushed up front. I'm sure once I satisfied my 35mm, I took a step back. Or several thousand steps back...

Fun year, fo sure...

Great show! Saw Foxboro on 7/2 and (first) Deer Creek on 7/15 as well during that summer of fun/love.

Great pics Trailhead!
