Holiday Giveaway Thread: Week Three

Forums:

This week, I'll be giving away my copy of Dave's Picks 37: College of William and Mary from April 15, 1978. This is kind of a shorter show, but there's extensive filler from the Pittsburgh Civic Arena show on April 18, 1978.

If you'd like my copy of Dave's Picks 37, pick a number between 1 and 100 and post that number here. The first number posted that is closest to the one I pick without going over my chosen number wins. Make sure you scan the thread before you post though to make sure nobody else already took the number you plan to post. Oh, and if you've already won one of these giveaways, feel free to play again. I'll announce the winner this Friday, December 17th, after 5:00 PM PST.

You're amazing, Mike!

#1.  Wow, thanks so much for doing this Mike.  Very cool.  My first show was the next night in Huntington, WV.   DeadBase states show was at the Huntington Civic Center, but I'm not so sure. That would have been a brand new facility and was was built to augment the Veteran Memorial Fieldhouse which was the only other large performance space in Huntington.  The Fieldhouse was home to Marshall University's basketball team.

My memory of the show is that the space had with those large foldout wooden bleachers that pushed  back flat against the walls when not in use. I sat on the lowest row in the bleachers with my feet on the floor and had my mind blown.  My memory is not of some new and stylish multipurpose arena just finished in construction a year earlier.  My memory was that of a room that simply looked like a very large high school or possible a university gymnasium .  As a 20 year old student at Ohio University I sure was naive about the world.  Got on the bus that night and haven't looked back.  Highlight for me was the Estimated.  I didn't know all the songs at that point, but I knew Estimated and it rocked my world.  Only time seeing Keith and Donna unfortunately.

61 seems like a good place to be....

39 is my guess
