Utahn's have been trying to stop this for a long time. We could use a hand. And it will protect Colorado, too! A simple phone call or e-mail would help.
This is the continuing saga of Utahn's having to turn to politicians from other states to help save Utah's environment from our politicians.
"... a proposed 88-mile-long oil railway that would quadruple oil extraction in northeast Utah’s Uinta Basin. If the Uinta Basin Railway is built it will need to be connected to the national rail network, and all routes lead through Colorado.
Every day the railway would send up to ten 2-mile-long trains hauling crude oil through the Western Slope and the Front Range — through Colorado mountains, towns and valleys on the way to Gulf Coast oil refineries.
Please contact Colorado Sens. John Hickenlooper and Michael Bennet and ask them to tell the Surface Transportation Board to reject the Uinta Basin Railway. The board’s decision could come any day, so there’s no time to waste."

Outside a state meeting in February of 2020. Like I said, we've been on this a while.

Thanks, Ned. Hey Ned, you'd be interested in SUWA's site about the Emery County comments on how to manage the wilderness areas. I'll send you the e-mail.
I ordered a 15' Maravia Zephyr self-bailer for my retirement present. Maybe we can get on the river sometime.
This Uinta Basin area has the worst ozone levels in the state already, and these are the clowns who would like a road through the Book Cliffs, a large roadless area. It has some of the best hunting in the nation, so it actually has the hunters joining with the enviros to try and stop it.

Rafting outfitters need to
Rafting outfitters need to realize their customers don't really care what the price is, and they can't bill anyone if they don't have any employees..

I responded to the Gov's
I responded to the Gov's twitter announcement;
"Your goal should be long term sustainability and not more fossil fuel pollution and added ozone to an area that blows the limits as it is NOW.
It's so sad Utah politicians are so damned stupid and have no sustainable vision. What would Brigham say?"
As if it matters what citizens say?
We're fighting over the water in the over-allocated Colorado River, getting ready to review the multi-state compact to adjust to the realities of climate change, and he's talking building more dams. SMH.
