Hey Admin!!!!

Forums:

Any chance that we could have the feature where the link of a thread that you've clicked on is not highlighted after someone else posts a message in it?

Makes it much easier to keep track of who has posted in a thread after you have.

Just a thought.  Keep up the great work, and thanks.

Think Judit mentioned in another thread that they're working on it Thom.

Actual question for admins -- any way to set it so when folders and topics have new posts, they don't show up as already-visited links? Not sure if it's doable, but I know it was a feature of the old Zone and it feels different not to have it that way.

Either way, major thanks for setting this up, and matching the format oh so closely

Uncle Sam, that's one of the details that is on our list and will be completed soon.

I just realized that VLZ has been open for less than a week.

Feels like it's been here a bit longer than that.

      Glad we're here.

Thom likes to know when somebody has taken the bait.

      Hey admin!

Thanks for updating links within posts so that they now open in another tab. That was a really nice feature of the old board I had taken for granted and it's good to see it back in effect here.

      Great job overall.

Yes, Thom, that is one of the most asked tech questions and one of the things high on the priority list!

Across, this is copied from the Formatting folder on the left, and HeyDavey put in a thread last night (I think people are doing it on their own):

Making a Link Open a New Window
Click the link button, the chain icon, and select the Target tab.
From the target tab, click the dropdown menu and select New Window, then Save.

      Good morning.

Ah, I see now, Judit. Good morning as well, thanks for clarifying and for making that option available.

I'll bring up a suggestion I threw out late in the old Zone...can we see who started each thread without opening? Obviously a want, as opposed to a need. Just glad to see some black screen.

Other than the threads not turning yellow when somebody posts on them, my main issue is right after I post, especially on a long thread. At that point the back button goes to "page expired", the blue/green top/bottom buttons don't work. and the left sidebar stays with the top of the thread instead of floating down, so it's not visible/accessible. Thus, hence, ergo, therefore I have to use the up arrow on the right margin to return to top so I can switch threads.

Would the easiest fix be keeping the sidebar visible at all times?

Thanks for all your hard work on this thing; we're just a bunch of picky Deadheads.

      cheers

Much Gratitude to Judit and all who helped make this possible. Here's to a new beginning of civility and mayhem!

I'm always a day late and a dollar short.

      Thanks.

"Thom likes to know when somebody has taken the bait."

Nah, I just like to know when new comments have been posted so I can follow a discussion.

Don't take his bait, Thom. Smark's a master.

      ^so is thom.

Thom is master of the hit and run post (see Chance for more); if he chooses to engage it's usually sincere.

Mark is a true troller, looking to hook a plaything and draw it out as. long. as. possible. A master baiter, you might say.

ymmv and stuff, but imo, only one of those styles has a future in Vivaland.

      ((((seamless transitions)))

      bump for clarity
