Hershey 6-28-85 - the most posted show in Philzone history

Forums:

Not exactly sure why this show has been referenced more than any other. There must have been something in the water that day. So due in part to contractual obligations, here it is once again:

E: Day Job

I was living under indentured servitude during this period and did not have the pleasure of attending, however this Minkin photo from that day has been on my wall of fame for many a year. It is still entertaining trying to decipher the white substance that is smeared all over his shirt. Coca residue, twinkie filling, tooth paste droplets...the possibilities are many.

That was certainly a very fun night!

My car's water pump died on the way down to Hershey from Saratoga, and while I managed to get it replaced fairly quickly, I didn't pull into the lot until the band was launching into Day Job.

Just listened to most of the show last night.  I don't know that I've ever seen so many comments on a show on arcihive.org.

it was a long drive from SPAC still coming down from the night before's Gooney-fueled mayhem.  I got hung up in the ticket line during the Cold Rain & Snow, but was on the field for Promised Land.  I still remember being in front of the board in the mist during Ain'f Superstitious, and roaming around the back of the field behind the board where there was plenty of room during Jerry's set ending trifecta of Bird Song>Comes A Time>Deal.  I spent the second set in the bleachers to the left of the stage.  Some unusual song placements, stellar performances and dialed in sound that night.  Phil's carpet bombs in Morning Dew are outrageous.  The Music Never  Stopped and Tom Thumb's Blues to open Set II are among the best they ever did, and the Space segment is riveting.  Jerry stamps a ripping Day Job as the encore, his certified seal of a top notch show.
