HBD Greg Lake RIP

Forums:

Was driving and the radio 104.3 NYC said it was his birthday so they played few songs. I like him so here's a good early one from ELP. in memoriam.

Nice to see people that like ELP. Saw them only once in 1977 at Soldier Field in Chicago with full orchestra.

Haha, it's Tull guitarist Florian Opahle

New Tull recording in January for those interested.

Grouchy Old Man's favorite still This Was.

This Was still the best - the next 2 were pretty decent as well. After that I lost interest. Still have the orig. vinyl of This Was, purchased about 53 years ago.

Thanks for posting the original version of Lucky Man, Chris.  I'd heard about it, but never heard it before.  Nice way to start the day.  Keith Emerson's synth part put that song over the top, but it's still a beautiful tune in it's raw form.

He was also the lead vocalist on King Crimson's first two albums, In The Court Of The Crimson King, and In The Wake Of Poseidon.

I posted gorgeous Epitaph vocal take above, from itcotck ^^

Ah, so you did.  Some anagrams should never be used.

Here's an Interview excerpt with Greg Lake by my WFDU  'Morning Dew' Co-Producer Stu Robins, focusing on the song 'Lucky Man'.

Great story!:
