Having surgery, need show suggestions

Forums:

Hello Zoners! I'm having open heart surgery, mitral valve replacement, on November 16. It's been a hard year, my husband, Leper Van Atom, passed away on February 19, 2022, and now open heart surgery. I'll be in the hospital for at least 5 days, I'll just have my cell phone and a JBL. Can anyone throw me a link? I would like to start with JGB, 1970s, anything up to 1985, maybe with Keith, John Kahn of course, prefer no Donna, although Maria Muldaur would be great even if Donna's there. I like a video if possible, but not necessary. Comes a Time is one of my favorites, no Black Peter or Death don't have no Mercy, it's the hospital where Vern passed away, I need to stay positive.

Actually, anything where Jerry is really rocking will work. I greatly appreciate any suggestions!

Love, Lil

Good luck with your surgery, fortunately open heart is quite routine these days!  (sorry for you loss as well, hugs)

Instead of shows (I often plug the same ones anyway, lol)

Here's the GD's youtube channel, lots to choose from;

And I like this site, easier format for finding shows, and has links to archive if needed;

Saw your post on Facebook, Lil - it's so sweet that you were feeling Vern in the music after the surgery. The music you heard held him with you, and you with him. heart

Hell only 1 valve ? Wait till you have to get all 7 replaced.

No worries young lady fair, I bet you're ready right now to participate in your return home square dance shindig.

Hello Zoners, thank you for all the well wishes and great advice for music to play after surgery. It all definitely helped with healing, John Kahn and Jerry playing off each other never gets old, along with everything else. I now have a mechanical valve, my own metronome that I can faintly hear all the time.

Right after surgery I had so many tubes in my body that I sang Tangled up in Tubes each time the nurse helped me to the restroom. None of the nurses knew the Dylan song, but some were interested in the music I played, I had a few that just came in and talked to my sister and me late night about music and life.

I'm thinking of you today Judit. You're wonderful Greg brought much magic, it's so hard to have that loss.

Thank you again Zoners, you're one of a kind.

Good to hear you're healing Lil, hang in there!

I'm so happy that you are healing. Music saves lives (when it's possible). I guess I should add great surgeons to that.

Thanks for thinking of me (and Greg) today, Lil. 8 years. So much time, so little time.
