I'm confused. What's the issue with saying have a safe & happy holiday season?
Sure everyone (including Representatives of corporations) says this. Most people say hello to people they see. Except in NYC.
I'm not sure that wishing anyone safety implies that said person is engaging in unsafe activity.
Zoner concerns R fun, not to mention food for (some) thought. Being a bit slow, perhaps some clarification may (or may not) help. Thx in advance 4 any help & or kindness here.
Update: I just read the prior post. So the issue is that it's phony. Got it. Thx
Maybe it's because the vast majority of people drink all day between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day, and do silly things like dousing the X-mas tree with gasoline, and have the kids toss lit sparklers at it.
That is somewhat Unsafe.
I usually start drinking at Canadian Thanksgiving, and then quit for Lent.

Cordial is fine. I'm still just perplexed on people wishing other people, many of whom they barely know, are "safe".
It's one of those softly ingratiating terms that doesn't mean a thing, other than to curry a false sense of caring. It's phony.
