Forums:

an all originals show?

just a guess

i'd say yes

i was thinking that too and randomly clicked on a bunch of shows from 74 75 76 77 78 79 but no cigar.didnt look at any 80s /90s shows.anybody got one?

No Robert Hunter covers?  (vs cowriting)

hunter is a member. so anything thats written by him is fine.just seems minglewood rider big river mama tried gdtrfb promised etc always pops up

Me and My Uncle is the second most often played tune after Drums, so we got a long row to hoe.

my super heady GD friend says

no way in hell

i think he's probably right. i haven't found a setlist that comes close

Yeah, I'm thinking no way. Roots band all the way.

3.23.75 is as close as were going to get I reakon...

Blues For Allah-> Stronger Than Dirt-> Drums-> Stronger Than Dirt-> Blues For Allah, E: Johnny B. Goode

some of the 69 setlists are pretty close to all original.

1969/2/22 comes to mind. death don't and lovelight only covers.

Dupree's Diamond Blues-> Mountains Of The Moon-> Dark Star-> Cryptical Envelopment-> Drums-> The Other One-> Cryptical Envelopment-> Death Don't Have No Mercy Doin' That Rag-> Saint Stephen-> The Eleven-> Turn On Your Love Light

i was gonna saw something very early like MAtrix shows or  68 69

maybe one or two second sets

I heard every show was original.

no original shows in 69. too many lovelights uncles and dews.not lookin for a set but an entire show

>.not lookin for a set but an entire show

really?

Fillmore East  2-11-70-A

Early show, one set only, may not be complete, but:

UJB  Cryptical  Drums  Other One  Cryptical  Dire Wolf  Casey Jones

Also, 8-30-69  Family Dog . One set - prob. all there was,  prob. complete?

China Cat Sunflower > Doin' That Rag, Morning Dew, Easy Wind, Dark Star > St. Stephen > The Eleven, High Time

Morning Dew isn’t original, but you knew that.

lol

Oops - missed that one. Good eye, Timmy.

Guess we're back to 2-11-70-a, which is also only one set - dunno if that counts.

think every1 is aware of setlists.net as well as many other GD setlist sites knotesau

and yes heybro entire show. thats what the thread is about

.

Deadbase lists the following shoe with only original GD songs:

California Hall, SF, Ca

10/31/66

Viola Lee Blues, Alice D. Millionaire

“Dance of Death Costume Ball” also QMS, Mimi Farina

Since I wasn’t there I cannot vouch 4 the accuracy of this list

 smiley

unfortunately viola was written by noah lewis in1928

cover bands suck.

Did the Dead ever play a show of all covers (no originals?).  I'd imagine there would be in the early days, but what about the later years....

Cover bands suck>>>
