Has anyone driver up Highway 50 to Tahoe recently?

Forums:

I know there's one way traffic still around the mudslide at Pollock Pines, but how much of a delay is that?  Assuming good weather of course.  Anyone tried to go up that way recently?

no, i have not tried that drive recently/..

Hi Alias, good luck if you go. The news showed 3 delays with bad weather coming. Bring a lunch.

Last I went to Tahoe, the train from Oakland through Sacramento to Truckee was inexpensive and scenic.

The heated antique benches at Sacramento RR station made it all worth the price of the ticket.  How Neat-O !!

So if the tracks have not washed out, you could take the train and enjoy the scenery.

Today is the day to be on the slopes, it is beautiful out this way.

Sat. afternoon a storm is coming in with Sunday heavy snow into Monday.

I really enjoyed my brief visit to Tahoe/Truckee region a couple years back.  Got to attempt skiing again, visited w/ Nephew & house-mates, and met my favorite Dawg, Mr. Hüsky.

It was pretty neat to ride over that Donner Pass where all those folks chowed down each other, back when. I was thinking, if ony they had thought to get down to the Interstate Highway, they could have hitched a ride to town to pick up some supplies and not had to munch their pals.

We even took a day-trip over to Reno Airport to collect one of the House-mates.

I can totally see the attraction of living in that region, especially if you like skiing & snowboarding.
