Harry Poppick, GD monitor engineer

Seriously? Just crazy that these folks that were an integral part of GDP have to resort to begging for money to deal with a  health crisis.

20 year employee deserves better.

Yeah, I'm looking at you, Bobby. Cut the guy a check.

It's spelled Harry Popick if I recall right.

He was there at every show I was at.  For years, it was Harry and Healey mixing the sounds that blew our minds.

I've always had a fond spot for the soundboard from Riverbend Amphitheater in Cincinnati from the 1985 Summer Tour where during the Drums>Prankster Space you can hear someone (Mickey?  Billy?  Jerry?) yelling "Harry!  Harry!"

Hope he gets the help he needs.  Nancy is right, the surviving Core 4 and the Garcia, Godchaux, and Mydland estates need to step up to the plate and help take care of their less fortunate brothers and sisters from the Grateful Dead extended family.

Dead & Co. making one of the Sphere shows a benefit for Harry would be a class act, and Bobby deserving of the sobriquet "Ace".

Bobby did a fundraising show at Sweetwater for Robin Sylvester a couple of years ago, so he does have that in him. Not sure when Phil has done any.

It is pretty pathetic that he has to use Go Fund Me

After Ramble On Rose about 7min into the track.... Happy Birthday Harry!

is a $100k a lot of money to any of the core 4 at this point?

Poor harry. And he's not the only one either.

It's quite sad these guys don't have any kind of retirement to speak of, after having broken their backs for this machine for decades

Not really sure how it all falls on b weir to fix it?

What Bss said.

And who's to say anyone hasn't quietly helped Harry out, as well as other old band-affiliated folks in need. It's been ongoing, it'll continue to be.

Love and healing.

Hello everyone, Harry Popick here! I was the Grateful Dead stage monitor mixer for 20 years. I’m here for a ASK ME ANYTHING session.

Q - Where are all the soundboards of the Jerry Garcia Band shows?

A - Good question...

Q - Was Steve Parish a complete prick to deal with?

A - Oh it seems you've met him!

Q - What happened to Dan Healy?

A - Why? What have you heard?

Yeah, judit, if Weir publicly announced he's been helping Popick out the hangers-on would come out of the woodwork to hit him up for money. I've known a few people who band members did help out in the past but it was all very hush hush for that reason.

lol DaBreeze!

They should have taken the proceeds from that Terrapin Station pipe dream and used the dough to build a retirement home.
