Hard to Believe It's Been 39 Years

Forums:

Since I drove the 16 miles from my parent's (and mine, at the time) home to Red Rocks to see the Grateful Dead.

Had so much fun, I did it again the next day. And many more times to many more places in the years that followed.

No regrets whatsoever.

I think throwing on the betty Board of 7/7/78 is appropriate today...

It just dawned on me that I'll be seeing my first show at Red Rocks since August 16, 1987, next Friday night. For my wife, it will be her first RR show.

And I'd be willing to bet that all three acts (Keller and The Keels, leftover Salmon, and Railroad Earth) break out a Dead tune that night.

Make that August 13. The 16th was my last show in Colorado before I moved to SW Florida. As most recall, the 15th and 16th were in Telluride. What a fine weekend that was.

Cool. Many times I enjoy the memories of the shows more then what recordings we are left with.

Haven't been back to the Rocks since those three '87 shows.  Good fu*#ing times.

Caught the second run in '78, word had filtered back to San Francisco about this amazing place they had played so three of us piled into my Civic and made the trip.

Rick how was your Dead Co show in the atl? I can' t remember you circling back to that thread with pictures or a review?

Show was great. Extracurricular activities resulted in minimal pictures.

Shoot me an email and I'll Dropbox you the soundboard.

Rick- I'm going Friday. Drop me a line if you want to meet up.
