Guild Theater Selling Tickets (Norcal)

I purchased tix for a few shows. Decent prices for a small theater too.

I'm interested in Marty Stuart & Fabulous Superlatives.

nice

Would love to see Robert Glasper.  If any of you don't know of him, check him out!

Mr. Tofu Head, if I may offer some heartfelt advice, DO NOT MISS MARTY STUART !!! And in a small intimate theatre. Oh my.

Hayes is hitting SLC on that tour also, Mark. New touching song about Alzheimers "Help Me Remember". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNYoY6k_sAI   Might need a tissue.

From Hayes; "I was fourteen years-old and sitting in the passenger seat of my grandfather's truck in Waco, TX, the town he had lived in for most of his life," Carll says in a statement. "He turned to me at a stoplight and asked me where we were. He looked scared. I know I was. I've thought a lot since then about what it must feel like to lose the thread of your own story. This song is for the people who've experienced what my grandfather did, those that are experiencing it currently, and for those who serve as their witnesses and caregivers."

I have heard it several times. Very moving.  I think maybe inspired by "Hello In There".

In fact, I posted that video to my fb page back in October.  But thanks for reminding me about it.

Stopped at The Guild Box Office today and picked up tix to Marty Stuart

anyone checked out a show there?

Heard great reviews...

It's a very small, and very nice little venue.

I've seen Robert Glasper there (a bit too glossy for me, but very talented) and Lucero. I'm thinking of going to Midnight North, just because it's close to me and they're a child of TxR (and who knows, an old bass player who started his rock 'n roll ways just around the corner from there may show up) and I'll be at the Ambrose Akinmusire and Marty Stewart shows for sure.

There's not much to the place, any spot in any corner is fine, and it's easy in/easy out.

Some of the staff can be a bit relentless though.

(Not really, the staff is relaxed and just fine. That was an inside-the-zone joke).

I checked out a show there and will be back for a few upcoming dates.

It's a bare bones room with great and Loud  sound.

The  venue is not the Ashkanez or TXR,  by design.

Hippies use the side door... The venue caters to the Silicon Valley Venture Capitalists and their entourage.

Headed to the Club Fox tonight to see the China Cats - where I feel more at home.

Going to Marty Stuart & His Fabulous Superlatives tomorrow.

Enjoy that Knotesau. Marty is REAL county music.

Depending on how I respond after going to two ballgames in a row (I'm getting old, shut up) I may well be there myself. (If I'm there I'll be the tall guy in the Giants hat).

I've been to the venue four times now, and it's a very cool little place. It's VERY low-key, and very small. It's just new, and it's in "Menlo Dark", so it needs to get more shows under it's belt, get more people in there and find it's groove, and it'll be fine.

GTTS!!!!!!!!!
