I have been a soda fiend my whole life. My favorite being Coke in a bottle. Concearned about the sugar and health effects I switched to diet coke. Then Coke Zero. One of the simple pleasures I thought wouldn't kill me. Medical Research has shown all the coke offshoots were not good for you so I went cold turkey and eliminated it from my diet. Maybe this new concoction is a better alternative with fewer risks. 
I also like beer but have not yet the strength to abolish it. Food for thought.
A soda Marijuana soda startup California Dreamin' wants to replace booze.
Enjoy a light, social high," says the funky bottle of California Dreamin' cannabis-infused sparkling pomegranate juice. Launching today at Y Combinator Demo Day, California Dreamin' is serving up an alcohol alternative that still gets you lit, but without the same hangover or health issues.
Each bottle contains 10 milligrams of THC -- an industry-standard dose of the psychoactive chemical in marijuana. The company only uses sativa, the more energizing, euphoric type of pot, compared to the more body-relaxing indica variety. That's compared to some competing marijuana beverages with as much as 100mg -- enough that a single sip will get you high and a bottle will lay out all but the hardiest stoners. "We want it to be a light, head high feel," says Seven Cities Beverage Company aka California Dreamin' co-founder Amy Ludlum. "We don't want to give anyone couch lock. We want it to be social."

Sativa vs indica is meaningless when dealing with edibles...all of the terpenes that modulate the effects are not present in the kind of extracts used to make these products...weed will always be a couch lock when eaten. Luckily 10mg of thc is an incredibly small amount so not only will you not have much couch lock going on, you will barely be high. Win some, lose some. Multiple small portion sizes in larger packages is the proper way around California's absurdly low thc limit for edibles...Nobody wants to drink 3 or 4 sodas just to get stoned. Another startup by more industry outsiders grabbing for cash with gimmicky products...

Some one gave me a couple of 25mg Sucker Lolly Pops. I've dragged 1 with me to the last 4 concerts (NY) that had a good drive, avoided eating it, in case the high was going to be drag.
I will eat one at Subdudes show at the end of the month, I plan on crawling home from that one.
