The Great Southern Gator Hunt

Imagine we live in a country where every year there is a great southern gator hunt. It has been going on for generations and passed down from father to son. Part of the traditions says that on your first hunt you have to smear the blood of the gator on your face, but in reality most of the participants end up with a little blood on their face. Back in 2008 one of the participants came down with a bad flu that eventually spread through the south but not beyond killing a few thousand people. The flu was traced back to the gator and jumped to the human host when the blood was smeared.
Ever since then there have been calls to call off the gator hunt because it had the potential to spread disease, but the Republicans refused to saying it didn’t make sense to shut down a centuries old tradition because of one incident, so the hunt went on. Fast forward to this year and the hunt has again spread a virus only this one spreads much more quickly and has now spread around the world. It will likely kill millions of people and has shut down the world economy. The Republican party has now agreed to shut down the hunt.
Over the last 10 years it has also come to light that the Republican party has been running re-education camps for Muslims who live in the states they control, and have been running for profit organ harvesting operations from the prisoners they execute.
We don’t have to imagine this world because this is China today. They are an arrogant authoritarian regime that in the span of 12 years has unleashed two fatal viruses on the world because they don’t want to crack down on the practice of wild animals being eaten for “health” benefits. Now Trump is being his racist asshole self by blaming China right now, in order to deflect from his complete failure to manage this crises. Chinese people are not responsible and certainly Chinese Americans are not at fault. But the authoritarian government is to blame, and I see liberals falling into the trap of defending them because if Trump is blaming China then it has to be wrong.
Don’t get caught standing in front of this train. Once the dust settles people are going to be looking around for someone to blame and it is going to get ugly for China, and their government is going to have a lot to answer for. It has become clear that if China wants to make our Mardi Gras beads that is fine, but we need to take a serious look at having critical infrastructure like pharmaceuticals being 100% produced in China. They are not a trusted partner.

I sure as hell put a lot of blame on the Chinese government for allowing those fucking wet markets, pandering to the tiny percentage of wealthy elite that eat pangolins because they think it will make their dicks bigger. The Chinese government has knowingly created and propagated a system that puts the world at risk.
I got called "racist" the other day for airing that opinion. It's not racist, it's a fact about the Chinese government and super wealthy elite class there.

Greg, where are you getting that "the people of China want democracy," and that they won't put up with it for much longer.
I'm sure you know this, but they have no history or culture of democracy. They also don't have a history of civil disobedience that works.
I don't think anyone can say what 1.3 billion Chinese want, or what their government will allow. We can't really look at it through our Western lens.

The Canadian news (western lens)has been shining a light on the situation pretty heavily since they arrested two Canadians (haven't yet been charged) in 'retaliation' to the arrest of the huawei executive who was caught doing business with iran...now waiting extradition to the usa. So now with this whats happening it's being reported that there is unrest within china because their people are wise to the cover up of the mishandling of covid crisis...
e.g.doctors in china knew medical workers were getting sick. .but on January 18 the CCP declared on state tv that "the risk of human to human transmission is low". On January 23 they enacted a quarantine.
And some citizens don't want to play along and bury the lie.

So, I can't really find any credible sources that say only the wealthy eat pangolin. Can someone link me on that, please?
Second, most evidence points to the disease coming from bats who were present in the markets, not the pangolins, but again, I may be wrong about that.
Third, the irony of Americans talking trash about a government that does whatever it wants and causes great harm to the world in the process is oh. so. rich. I mean, sure, the Chinese government fucked us all on this one, I don't have a hard time believing that. But uuuuhhh, folks, the US has kinda been fucking the world for a long time. Do I really need to give examples?
