Some great stuff

"I traveled with them for just two concerts really, the New York show and the Boston show. The roadies were particularly unfriendly and wanted me to get out of the way and keep my distance but Jerry and the band couldn’t have been nicer."

I remember this shot in the RS story....

"Then I remember being back in their hotel room and I got pictures of Donna brushing her teeth and stuff like that."

Worth your time, good read.

I've read about him and his run in with the Dead. There's photo/story of him hanging with Bob Weir and his sister Carly.

Fun, will go back to hear the interview on Simon's site.

Who proof reads this stuff?

My father owned the venue in Boston he mentions , The Ark . I know there are a couple zoners that saw their first shows there as well , at the Ark , or relocated Tea Party .

He had a great book of photos called "Reggae Bloodlines" back in the 70's . He obviously spent a lot of time hanging in Jamaica with the musicians . I was working backstage "security" at a Rita Marley show ( One Draw tour early 80's ) in Boston , and was told not to let ANYONE by without a pass . Well , Peter tried to get through , and of course I wouldn't let him , and I got the "Do you know who I am ? " ...

Saw my first GD show at the new Tea Party, nee Ark, on Lansdowne St. - right across from Fenway Park - in Dec. 69.

Simon also collaborated with David Gans on the mid-80s book Playing in the Band.
