Great News on the Global Warming thing?

Forums:

Unless this guy is on Putin's payroll or is a closet science denier, this appears to be pretty devastating to the global warming crowd:

Exposed: How world leaders were duped into investing billions over manipulated global warming data

Lassen is not cool in his 40s

I already know that Bro...

lol at the UK news... total load of crap.

im sorry lassen, but i just dont believe anything any more....

The Daily Mail?   Not much better than the New York Post:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daily_Mail

However, found this interesting tidbit in the Wiki article:

On 17 January 1967, the Mail published a story, "The holes in our roads", about potholes, giving the examples of Blackburn where it said there were 4,000 holes.

In a related development, some republicans are actually working to implement a carbon tax:

http://www.cnn.com/2017/02/07/politics/republicans-climate-change/index....

The daily mail?? Lol, aren't you the pizza gate guy, Lassen?

"the resistance" will not tolerate this

Did you read the story Ros? what do you think?

No, we won't.

People who flirt with the belief that the moon landing was faked - or that we live on a flat earth, or who deny climate change, or believe a pedo ring operates out of a pizza parlor, or think there are ancient lizard people running the world - used to occupy the fringes of the internet, confined from society by their own paranoid stupidity.

The topic becomes polarizing when a small segment of society is so blindingly dumb that it affects everything from politics to the advance of science. Think of it as multiplying a negative with a positive... the result is negative. The only way to stop it is through education and the popping of society's cultish bubbles.

^ what are you babbling about Bro? Geez dude, stay on topic.

What did you think of the story?

poor lassen

Chairman Lamar Smith (R-Texas):

“I thank Dr. John Bates for courageously stepping forward to tell the truth about NOAA’s senior officials playing fast and loose with the data in order to meet a politically predetermined conclusion.  In the summer of 2015, whistleblowers alerted the Committee that the Karl study was rushed to publication before underlying data issues were resolved to help influence public debate about the so-called Clean Power Plan and upcoming Paris climate conference.  Since then, the Committee has attempted to obtain information that would shed further light on these allegations, but was obstructed at every turn by the previous administration’s officials.  I repeatedly asked, ‘What does NOAA have to hide?’

“Now that Dr. Bates has confirmed that there were heated disagreements within NOAA about the quality and transparency of the data before publication, we know why NOAA fought transparency and oversight at every turn.  Dr. Bates’ revelations and NOAA’s obstruction certainly lend credence to what I’ve expected all along – that the Karl study used flawed data, was rushed to publication in an effort to support the president’s climate change agenda, and ignored NOAA’s own standards for scientific study.  The Committee thanks Dr. Bates, a Department of Commerce Gold Medal winner for creating and implementing a standard to produce and preserve climate data, for exposing the previous administration’s efforts to push their costly climate agenda at the expense of scientific integrity.”

Oversight Subcommittee Chairman Darin LaHood (R-Ill.):

“I applaud Dr. Bates’s efforts in uncovering the truth of this data manipulation, and I commend Chairman Smith and the Science Committee for conducting rigorous oversight on behalf of the American people.  Transparent and faithful execution of the scientific process, especially where taxpayer dollars are involved, is crucial to ensure that our policies are based on sound science and not on politically predetermined outcomes.”

Environment Subcommittee Chairman Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.):

“I commend Dr. Bates for bringing to light the corrupt practices used by his former colleagues and hope this serves as a deterrence to anyone thinking of manipulating science to serve their own political agenda.  I applaud Chairman Smith and the Science Committee's efforts to provide the necessary oversight to ensure the American people have the best information possible.”

This thread isn't about me, it's about the likely possibility that NOAA compiled fraudulent data to push an agenda.

Why is that such a outlandish conspiracy?

This thread is about you and how u think u shed light

you're as crazy as Nancy

lol.. i'm sure Nancy won't like to be associated with me.

and regarding the shedding light comment you refer to, lighten up will ya..

Regardless of how folks fell about lassen, the house seems to be taking this seriously

LOL

heybro... people who think that the magnificent humans evolved from monkeys without any intervening, or that history is true, and that have no explanation for the pyramids etc are wishfully denying how unbelievable the real story of the earth is!!  man look around you!!

I do look around and it's a sad world

Is anyone really surprised that republicans in the house are going to take this seriously? They obviously know their constituents well by now.

quite the contrary mao fraou......

we live in a fucking amazing age.... maybe take a deeper look???

I watched arrival the other day. Cool flick

lassen lost all credibility some time ago. Just another conspiracy theory.

Why is it a conspiracy theory JR? Do you believe this story is being unfairly attributed to John Bates, or do you believe he is in collusion with the republicans to undermine democrats?

Sorry lassen but I don't discuss stories sourced from the daily mail.

It's a steady job but he wants to be a paperback writer.

Sorry lassen but I don't discuss stories sourced from the daily mail. <<<<

ding ding ding...we have a winner....

devastating to the global warming crowd...><<

um...no it's not...

I think some people will be changing their perspective of "the elite" in the very near short term and some of the loudest defenders of these scum will be forced to eat their own words.

{{{ red pill }}}

of course you do, no surprise there.

Across, of course there is no surprise that the Republicans jumped on this. The fear is that they use this as justification for curtailing NOAA's, and other agencies', climate research. It also may be used to justify pulling the US out of the Paris climate deal.

Despite the tabloid nature of the source (i.e. Daily Mail), it appears to remain fact that a well respected former NOAA climate scientist is calling bullshit on the report that was used as the basis for the 2015 Paris Climate agreement.

Instead of attacking me and my character, why don't all you climate experts tell me why i should not believe John Bates.

And again, this claim has been taken up by the House of Representatives Committee on Science, Space & Technology, so it's not like i'm claiming this is coming from the greys that live in the zeta reticuli star system.. lol

https://science.house.gov/news/press-releases/former-noaa-scientist-conf...

cheers

<<<of course you do, no surprise there

Well, it's surprising to me. I've never thought that before the last week or so.

I'm flattered by your continued attention, Asscheeks.

>>>>>>Despite the tabloid nature of the source (i.e. Daily Mail), it appears to remain fact that a well respected former NOAA climate scientist is calling bullshit on the report that was used as the basis for the 2015 Paris Climate agreement.

The word of one person isn't worth very much in the scientific community.  If there were hundreds of scientists saying this you might have something.

Lassen, that's the third time that link has been posted. Do you think anyone but you and I have read it?

>>>>>And again, this claim has been taken up by the House of Representatives Committee on Science, Space & Technology,

Yeah, who's heading that up and what's their background in science?

Here is a list of scientists (for full and fair disclosure, not just climate scientists mind you) that are skeptical of the so-called 97% claim about anthropogenic climate change. Are these people all conspiracy nuts or pseudo scientists?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_scientists_opposing_the_mainstream...

What they are is a vast minority of scientists.

So the majority is always right?

When scientifically reviewing data if 97% of scientists agree on something the data is probably right.  You know the White House started wiping climate change data from .govs about 20 minutes after Trump was sworn in, right?

Man-made climate change is a red herring; the next ice age is coming anyway.

Check out this chart and website, and notice that every time there's an ice age the data spikes up, and look at the data for modern times: it's way spiking.

Look around on the nets and in books a bit more too, and come back to tell us what you think.

Vostok_420ky_4curves_insolation_to_2004_1.jpg

http://www.antarcticglaciers.org/glaciers-and-climate/ice-cores/ice-core...

And yes some of that 3% are pseudo scientists.

You're the conspiracy nut.

I don't think what Trump did on .gov has any relevance here, but whatever. I will continue to be skeptical about the 97% claim, that doesn't mean i don't support clean energy or the environment however.

have a great day

Floops, that chart only shows the past variability of climate over the last 400,000 years. Yes, we are prob. headed for another ice age in some number of hundreds or even thousands of years. However, our activities are causing a warming that is superposed against the general trend of cooling temps., and is on a scale of dozens to a hundred years or so.

It's gonna get hot before it gets cold.

It has reached near 60 the last three days here in VA. Normals are around 30.  HELLO !

Here is a link for you lassen/  http://www.ucsusa.org/clean-vehicles/vehicles-air-pollution-and-human-he...

We are talking about toxic pollutants here, deregulation will only benefit industry, all industry cares about is making money, they don't care about pollution or how it affects peoples health.

Global warming or not we have a huge worldwide problem with pollution from industry and transportation. Personally i think the global warming debate is a waste and the focus should be on proving how the contaminants effect peoples health long term instead of if its getting warmer or not..

The republicans are pawns to industry, they are saying its ok to pollute our planet as long as its not getting warmer?

True, Richard, but we still had ice ages in those periods with spikes, right?

>>>that doesn't mean i don't support clean energy or the environment however.

Backwards much?, discrediting global warming plays against the clean energy aggenda.

Meet the Fossil Fuel Lobbyists Raising Money for Hillary Clinton

My father is on that list. He's a conspiracy nut, lol

Before Keystone Pipeline Decision, President Obama and Hillary Clinton Backed Expansion of Fossil Fuel Development

Some people call them the elite, trumps calls them his cabinet.

Obama and Clinton are centrists, not democrats. Real democrats support Bernie and his like.

>>>>>>Obama and Clinton are centrists, not democrats. Real democrats support Bernie and his like.

They also have zero to do with the original topic.

Head of House of Representatives Committee on Science, Space & Technology Lamar Smith has zero background in Science.  His background is finance.

As of 2015, Smith has received more than $600,000 from the fossil fuel industry during his career in Congress.[46] In 2014, Smith got more money from fossil fuels than he did from any other industry.[47] Smith is publicly skeptical of global warming.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lamar_S._Smith

Smith got more money from fossil fuels than he did from any other industry =  Smith is publicly skeptical of global warming.

Don't argue with floops. He knows a lot about nothing.

There is no good news about climate change. There is no conspiracy, just good science. if you can't understand the science behind the fact that climate change is real, you probably are as insane to question whether there was a moon landing and can't even understand that Pizzagate was fake news too, oh nevermind.

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2017/02/07/science/earth/antarctic-c...

Which party voted overwhelmingly against campaign finance reform, REPUBLICANS..

If you can't afford to care about the climate, then don't.

I never said the moon landings were fake dude.. get over it. I merely brought up the questionable behavior of the Apollo 11 astronauts during the post landing press conference. Is that so verboten?

Regarding pizzagate, i believe there's pedophilia going on at very high levels in D.C., and i believed there were significant red flags surrounding some of the players in this issue to warrant further investigation. Do you deny pedophilia is happening globally, and amongst rich and powerful people?

I was responding to Lassan's comment just before mine, Tim.

Me too

Ahhh, got it.

http://www.politico.com/story/2014/09/senate-block-campaign-finance-amen...

Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), the Democrats’ top message man, said voters will not forget Republicans’ rejection of an amendment that Democrats argue would get “dark money” out of politics and broadly drives GOP policies.

Bill Nye the Science guy will start refuting bogus claims on April 21st - "Bill Nye Saves the World" .  He might even explain Climate Change for dummies, maybe some of the science deniers here could learn something.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-_HKOcYBK8

I'm not a skeptic of climate change, but Holy shit Billy Nye is the worst.

He's just sciencey enough for people who want to reassure themselves they are smart but he's kind of a disingenuous shill who is wrong on quite a bit, most recently GMOs, by jumping in bed with Monsanto.

and don't get me started on Neil Degrasse Tyson.

the media created science bots who are more actors and props than anything..... pushing the round earth agenda...

Bill Nye is almost as creepy as Podesta. I bet he frequent's Comet Ping Pong.

some of you guys are way too into pedophilia for me. I must say it's a bit creepy.

strong work Across. very strong!

wonder what level of scientific consensus was in agreement on global cooling in the 70's

Lassen, why is anthropogenic climate change important? Don't you agree that it's a red herring, that the next ice age is tomorrow, geologically speaking, regardless of man's contribution?

Or do you, Lassen, approve of the Neoliberal agenda?

More breaking news today....

"Pueblo Manager for McCain Campaign Arrested on Molestation Charges"

"The boy told police that “Mr. Jeff” told him he had done the same things to five others, according to an arrest affidavit cited by Pankratz."

Floops, it appears to me that the topic of anthropogenic global warming is being used to push agendas as stated in resolutions such as agendas 21 and 30, which will further consolidate power to the global elite. It ties in to the ambitions of certain factions to establish a new world order. At the heart of it, it's about population control and control of resources. IMO.

I believe in neo-liberalism that operates within the framework of natural law.

Thanks 73 for that link.

73guy,

I believe this is just the tip of the iceberg. Rumor has it that the FBI has briefed the AG on the results on their investigation into pedophilia in D.C., which includes many high profile politicians, including John McCain.

It's unfathomable to anyone with a soul that there are people that could do such evil to innocent children.

No Data Manipulation at NOAA

Bates told the AP on Feb. 6 that there was “no data tampering, no data changing, nothing malicious” involved with his colleagues’ study. “It’s not trumped up data in any way shape or form,” he said.

Rather, Bates claimed Karl and his group hadn’t followed NOAA protocol in “the way data was handled, documented and stored, raising issues of transparency and availability,” the AP reported, adding that Bates thought the study was rushed “to influence the December 2015 climate treaty negotiations in Paris.”

http://www.factcheck.org/2017/02/no-data-manipulation-at-noaa/

Jesus, that sounds like an amazing story, Lassen. Tell me more about these global elites and the new world order. And please believed me when I tell you that I have sympathy for these worries, though I'm skeptical of your position.

What's your definition of Natural Law? And please explain the connection between Neoliberalism and Natural Law. You don't need to go deep; just the basics, please.

Lassen, do you have an erection right now?

It's okay to answer honestly.  Nobody is judging.
