Grateful Dead Live at The Sportatorium on 5-22-1977

Forums:

When someone says what is special about 77, and in particular May 77, I say start here  Then head to Buffalo on 5-9, stop by Boston on your way to Baltimore and then Chicago.  Now, I saw the tour opener at the good ole Spectrum 4-22-77 and while its a haze all these years later, they just got better each show, so Philly wasn't as hot as some of the others.  Then I toss Cornell in the mix somewhere--maybe in the top 60% of that spring tour, but not the holly grail as some say, IMHO.

I can't think of a finer uninterrupted hour of Grateful Dead music than this right here

all interstellar objects in alignment just exactly perfectly.

All systems go.

I get bored quickly with spring 77. Things started to get better in the fall when Jerry got his real guitar back. 77 makes good car listening tho and those choices are good

Well Fishcane, that is what make the world go round.  Sure, not tons of variance in the set lists during that period. Those early Wolf shows after th Travis Bean was relegated to collection back at Club Le Front were great.  My friends brother played a T Bean and I just remember how heavy that fucker was
