Grateful Dead 81 Hartford Mini Movie
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VPyHYynaT2s
The band reached sonic nirvana at Nassau 5 days earlier & we had no problems getting tickets to this show.
Left Seaford at 7pm in 8 Cylinder with big Bob driving, was in New Haven 45 minutes later. Grabbed the last parking spot in a parking garage right across from the venue & was the fist to leave from it.
It was Weir's best night of the tour & just took it all to another level.
But as it turns out, this a VERY magical night for Jerry & Booby must have see the twinkle in Jerry's eyes & Bobby gave us the goods to support him the best-he could.
One of the songs in here I-have a lot on the line -with no payback other the fear. But that is now my problem.
Warner Brothers Music Group ® my audience recording Re master of the To Lay Me Down ® at 3am in NYC.
I fell asleep while screening this & woke up crying twice tonight to the TLMD ~
The third time I woke up, it was just uploaded to see that some other folks were jus as moved as me & spent $ & this is now part of the GD CANNON & ARCHIVE

For me, it was like the Woody Allen's movie sleeper. I was all wrapped up in tin foil & the next thing I am waking up in Connecticut?

I will later in this thread,
....just an amazing night, and quite the "build up" to it pre show, as my buddies had seen them a cpl times by then...drive down from htfd, and then the parking lot was one story after another of what i was in store for...this was few nights after my 21 st bday...
I wasnt into them at all...much more into southern rock, motown, aerosmith, steely, the kinks, the who, the beatles, CSNY, ELP, Zappa..on and on at time...as you can see, my tastes ran from A to Z (i grew up delving thru three older siblings vinyl collections, and their tastes were all over the place , thousands of albums between the 3, 1 dead album, my sister had skeletons in closet which i listened to a handful of times growin up...then a sister in law really got ball rolling giving me American Beauty for my birthday, and i knew i was on to something after hearing Box, Ripple, Brokedown , and Attics...
The parking lot at New Haven became the beginning of the laughs ...going round and round...;)..we were def high, but were waitng to get inside to dose....i dont know if i could give ya a story of the show that would do it justice...just look at set list and imagine...wide eyed and totally blown away...i was sold immediatly, but i can add that The Satisfaction encore blew me away--not necessarily musically, to me it was more about looking at this mass of ppl...and this band...and for an encore (where, now maybe, everyone does a tribute or a cover, but Nobody was doing that back then, you were suppossed to be promoting product etc...i heard the opening notes, just started laughing - saying "this band just doesnt give a fuck".....and from that night frwd, well, you know the rest of the story....ya, tears also (this a.m.) listening to To Lay Me Down...still cant blv that set list...

I stopped this first upload
I stopped this first upload of this after it was flying {34%} done and at a speed that put me 7 hours away from Nirvana & did 6 second edit, that have saved it.
That version would have needed the Blessing from the Queen of England.
One of the few people on the planet, who doesn't know who Jerry Garcia is & this would have blown-her-dress-up.
Pardon the French; well don't totally Pardon the French, just keep them on a short leash, like me ~
That is not New London Connecticut in that Scarlet, music fans...
