Grateful Dead [1080p Remaster] April 27, 1977 - Capitol Theater, Passaic, NJ

^^^^^

Christmas just came early!  Wow this is so incredible! Thanks for sharing doctor (doolittle)

What a delicious show!

I've felt for a long time that this Morning Dew blows Cornell out of the water.

Delicious indeed. The Glory Years.

At the 1:46:45 mark during Scarlet, the camera pans to the audience and 4 guys. I'm the second from the right next to the guy with the stripe shirt ( and for anyone who might remember from the old zone, the guy on the left is Blackie). Again at 1:47:52. I'm the guy bopping his head. Surreal seeing yourself live in the past. I was born and raised in Passaic. The Cap was my home theater. Amazing shows and times. So fortunate to have lived there and then. I've seen snippets of this show before and knew of my appearances. But it's nice to have the whole show.

^^^^ that's awesome !!  I'm in the truckin up to buffalo movie numerous times,,  july 4 89

^^^ what he said.   Super cool!

Lucky you Jamspace smiley

Not necessarily about growing up in Passaic.wink

And Local Cornel is overrated!!

Doolittle when I was growing up in Passaic it hadn't yet gone downhill. It was a pretty neat town.

Jamspace were Quaaludes involved in that show. Nobody's getting down and shaking it with such groovy music happening.

Here's Kreutzman mentioning a period of when Quaaludes subdued the fans.

@Jamspace  I can imagine. I went back to where I grew up last year for the first time  after 33 years and it has turned into a shithole. Homeless people sleeping on the streets. I feel sorry for them but it has made me never to live there again,

Doolittle. Ludes were prevalent but I think it had more to do with the security there at the time being really strict about standing and dancing other than in the standing room areas along the walls. Those seats were 3rd row.

Had the evening to myself and did the whole show.

It is a helluva Dew. Jerry on fire the whole show.

I only had time for a taste, so I scrolled to the Terrapin > Dew. It was great to see Jerry bopping hard that night.

Yes indeed! One of my favorite shows and memories of an animated Jerry. Those were the days!

Yeah, I've never seen Jerry so lively before.

At what point did shows transform from sitdown to standing in theaters?  Kind wild to see everyone sitting during a ripping scarlet fire.

I don't think it was a time but depended on the venue. I was taping in 76/77 and we stood in a lot of places. This before the dedicated taper section. I also saw them in 72-3-4 & 6 and there were plenty of venues where we could stand.

It was General Admission standing room at Winterland.

A lot of General Admission venues in the west anyway.

The Who in Cincinnati concert changed  a lot about GA at the time. Saw the last show of that tour at the Capitol Centre in Md. The band seemed tired or effected by what happened in Cincy.

Passaic Cap was a strictly enforced, no-smoke, keep-the-aisles-clear venue, in my limited (80-86) experience.

Also, some very electrified folks keep very still.wink

I guess Jerry broke those rules this night!laugh

Sorry I studder sometimes.
