Grate Room shows

Forums:

Has anybody heard about when shows will resume?

Umphrey's McGee announced a 9/2 show at TXR, which I assume is indoors.

I'm not sure when they will start, but the TXR ticketing page says Grate Room shows will be for the vaccinated only.

If you aren't vaccinated yet, you might want to go get that done - inside shows might be coming soon for those who took the jab! We're so grateful to you, Terrapin Nation, for sticking with us as we approach the light at the end of the tunnel with caution and optimism!

That's great news. I recently downloaded the Clear app, they track your vaccination records and make it easy to scan for entry - and more difficult for unvaccinated to cheat. The app also links recent negative Covid tests as an alternative to proof of vaccination.  Many venues and airlines are already requiring this app. Same company that works with Airport Secuity, the health app is free though.

Whatever one may think about vaccinations, if there is one place that will test their effectiveness, it's the Grate Room.

I love that little room, but ever since this ordeal has started I've wondered if I'll ever feel comfortable going inside there again - it's juuuuuust a bit tight when full.

This past weekend I attended a large wedding near Placerville, in a region where many don't take kindly to the vaccines and other COVID protections. Everyone was piled into fairly small rooms, no one wearing masks, and I figured that would be the litmus test for me, but I don't know if there is any place where the air is more shared than a sold out Grate Room show.

But what the hell, if I can survive a Placerville wedding I guess I can take my chances with the Grate Room.

I really do love that little room.
