Grate footage of the Rolling Stones Las Vegas 11/06/21

nice footage

caught them once in 94 at camp randall in madison, WI

buddy & i decided on stones instead of PinkFloyd(94 lineup)

shouldve went to floyd(pulse tour) and caught RS next time around...oh well, i wrangled a few shirts :)

That's a really well done video, thanks for posting.

As I watch it I find myself thinking the same thing I've been thinking through all the many clips of this tour that I've watched...

Without Charlie Watts they just don't sound like The Rolling Stones.

Even with a brilliant drummer like Steve Jordan, and even with him consciously playing the beats & in the style of Watts, it's all just a little too smooth, a little too processed.

IMO, the one-of-a-kind sound & herky-jerk groove that Charlie Watts made, and especially with how that meshed with Keith's funky, choppy rhythm guitar, was an integral, irreplaceable part of the sound of The Rolling Stones. And it was that specific, very unique sound that those two made together which was what I loved so much when I was at a Stones show.

I could have gone to this Vegas show, VIP'd up and on the field, right where you want to be at a stadium show. I went back & forth on whether I'd go, wanting to because a Stones show is ALWAYS a party and because I was/am very curious about how they'd sound without Watts, but ultimately I decided not to go, mainly because I pretty much knew how it would sound to me, and that I would find it all very sad.

I have no issues with them continuing on and playing their music; they're true originals, true all-time greats and all these decades later they're still able to do it, so IMO they absolutely should carry on.

And while I know that I'm always the one saying that if you don't go to the show you just don't know, and I still believe that in this case, unless they're in my backyard and it's not costing me much or anything, I doubt that I'll be seeing them again.
