Good Lovin'

Forums:

No overpriced chocolates or roses here for VD, but that doesn't mean we can't share some Good Lovin'. April 17, 1971 (Princeton University) seems like a good place to start:

That Lovelight is the highlight for me

My mistake. I thought Lovelight was the buck and a quarter rap. I haven't listened to that show in ages.

Great show.

I saw them on 2-14-88 at the Kaiser; they played Lovelight.

Fun night, not the best show.

I was at that one too, Local.  That was the night of the final Keep On Growin'.

GD love songs playlist, on Spotify... lots of 1960s and '70s live versions represented

I wish it was, Dave. Much to my chagrin, I never got to see Keep On Growin.

That was the '86 VD show, also at the Kaiser.

Glad you were able to be there.

I was at both '86 and '88, I loved that series of shows in February '86. I probably loved '88, too.

GD at Fillmore East on 2-14-1970...partial video of Dark Star for 6+ minutes... well worth watching 52 years later on this Valentine's Day

Good Lovin' was the first song I really "got" at my first show.

The whole thing was so different than any rock concert I'd been to, so all through the first set I was just trying to figure it all out, but after Bertha opened the 2nd set they went right into Good Lovin'.

With Mickey smacking that cowbell, Bob spitting out the lyrics, Jerry & Phil bringing down plaster from the old Winterland walls and the whole crowd lit, I felt lifted to my feet and I was in the groove, and I've loved that song ever since.

It's just a great song, I've always thought Weir did/does it justice and I'm always happy to hear it.
