For 2-3 Weeks later in September ! 190.00 round trip ( LAX to LTO ) on Alaska Airlines my Friend has A Big Property there ! Boat All The Fishing Gear Etc.
Sweet! Are they going to be open by then? Mexico is getting slammed right now and some communities aren't to welcoming to gringos at this point, but I guess if you are staying on your friend's land, it might not be an issue.
I was down in Loreto and many other parts of Baja in March just as everything was closing, but well before the shit hit the fan. See my review in the "travel" folder for some tips on campgrounds in the area. If you want to do a side trip or two, I would seriously consider camping up on the Bahia Concepcion north of Loreto or on Rattlesnake Beach south of town.
Big time lockdown. In some towns and villages, the locals have put up barricades on the roads in to keep people out. Guess you will see when you get there. And be prepared to be flexible on your flight out. My flight on Alaskan from Loreto to LAX got bumped around a couple times before I was finally able to fly out. But shit, nothing like tooling around on the Sea of Cortez in a boat catching snapper and cochinos.
i know someone that should have just gotten back. they were able to go x the border no problem like 3 weeks ago. fwy signs here say "border closed to through traffic with some restrictions'...or something like that. they were just in san juanico...
Looks beautiful. I would really like to go somewhere to weather the lockdown but my wife works everyday in the hospital so she can't. I suggested at one point going to a cool air bnb in Tokyo, because, why not?
Baja looks like a pretty fucking sweet place to do it, though. Nice work, plf.
san juanico/scorpion bay, is on the pac side and although yes hot in the summer....is very much more moderate than the gulf side.
i can't remember the taco shop name, it's a ladies house similar to pictured above...starts w/ an A...they open when they get a catch in. it's their casa and pull up the sides of the widows. you can see the familia chillin' on the furniture. all the fixin's you could dream of. da best.
i'm no longer in contact with the couple i know that live there really nor my buddy's ex friend who has a casa there.
A lot of homes in Mexico have big tanks on top and the water truck comes by periodically to fill it up. Others just use five gallon jugs that they take down to the neighborhood water store to get refilled.

totally. It's the size of the garden (substantial) and the obvious amount of surface evap taking place, coupled with a few other farm related observations from that photo that makes me think about these things...
While camping at Rattlesnake Beach, we learned of a well with good water near an abandoned house right off Mex 1 28 km south of Loreto at the turn off to Puerto Escondido. They had rigged up an overhead spigot that you could drive a water truck under and fill it up.
Read today that the travel ban has been extended to late August. Hopefully, it won't mess with your trip and looking forward to hearing the travel reports.
>>>> I would relocate to Mexico for at least the next 12 months.
