Go See Ray Cooper Play

Forums:

As a bonus, you get an Elton John concert.

One or twice a decade I go see an artist and am happily surprised to see Cooper in the band. Such a great musician and such a blast to watch.  If you're not familiar with him, imagine if the "Six Flags guy" were a master percussionist.

Lily:  That man is having too much fun.

Elton was great, BTW.  Walking a bit like Jorma these says.  The band was tight, but the sound was shit on the louder numbers.  The delay towers were way too far from the stage, I think.  The delay and the bounce-back from the far seats made for an audio mess on that end.  On the quieter numbers, it actually created a pretty cool effect here and there.  Was hoping for a Madman Across the Water, but one can't play everything.  Also, kinda cool that 20-year-olds know all the words to tunes from the 70's.  Props to EJ.

First time at MetLife.  Nice staff.  F'n ugly building.  It looks like a multi-blade razor taken to extremes.  I think SNL did a sketch some decades ago.  Now with 15 blades!

Anyhoo, Ray Cooper.  F'n awesome.

Couldn't agree more, the man is a monster percussionist who we've probably all seen dozens of times without knowing it.

For quite a while there it seemed like he pretty much played with 90% of the bands who toured here from over the pond.

He tore, I said tore,,  the shit up at the ARMS tour in NYC. Love that man, , good call

Meh. I've always thought he is a bit too much of a poser.

He's good & all and I get it's entertainment, but for my taste there's too much "look at ME!" in that guy's game.

Yep.  That's the first time I saw him.  Best behind-stage seat ever.

Caught Elton twice this tour. The music was fanfreakintastic. Ray rocks!
