So a BIG Hurricane is whacking the Texas Gulf coast, and there are oil refineries there which supply a pretty good percentage of the Petrol in circulation.
Even if the refineries are spared major destruction, the Bad Weather will slow down the flow from TX to other places. Pump Gas prices are (probably) heading up 15 -► 20 cents per gallon in the next few days or so.
Wouldn't hurt to fill up your rigs and stock up on Lawn Mower fuel.

Not a bad idea, Stu.
Not a bad idea, Stu.
Even though they may say minimal impact, these companies seem to use any reason, real or imagined, to jack the price whenever possible.
Couldn't hurt.

So the next day, Sunday 8-27
So the next day, Sunday 8-27, filled up the Outback at $2.219 for 'regular' and got some 89 octane 'mid-grade' for $2.519. (Chainsaw juice.)
Same station is now at $2.539 regs and $2.839 mids. Wish I could have filled up the fuel-pig Truck, but something's funny with the Brakes in the last week.
Hopefully prices go back down. At least I'm not in Texas, where stations have been running out since the storm.

The benchmark Gas WaWa was at
The benchmark Gas WaWa was at $2.759 last night, but consistent with the 30-50 cent differential for 89 octane and 'Super' prices...
$3.059 mids, $3.259 Super (91 octane for the WaWa = Super).
Saw one Valero with $2.679 regular.
These are Central Jerseyland pump prices.
Great Flying Spaghetti Jeebus !! Wish I had filled up the Tractor back in the days of $2.219
However, Diesel is cheaper than Regs right now, so at least the Truckers can deliver the Gasoline to the stations at a reasonable fuel price.

I run my saws on 89 octane
I run my saws on 89 octane and Stihl (orange container) 2-cycle. That combination has functioned quite well over many hours of chainsaw use. The Hüsqvarna 2-cycle oil will do in a pinch, and one can find it a Leow's stores, but I personally would not run it long-term.
Guys I know who run their saws more hours per-diem invest in the Stihl (grey container) synthetic 2-cycle oil, and 91 octane gasoline.
