Gnarly Head

not a Stormy Daniels/ Monica Lewinsky thread

but a new GD wine...

Zoner Ripple taste test to follow?

unlike the GD I doubt these age well

The wine I usually like best is Old Vine Zin, and I like Cabs, but I don't have confidence in these. I'm usually disappointed by this sort of marketing thing. Whoever does try them, please report back. Thanks.

I do have some J.Garcia inspired wines  (cab, chard  pinot) with cool  labels of his watercolor art. Produced by Clos Du Bois, a reputable  winery

They were not  your average 2 buck chuck or MD 20/20 rot gut...

YPMV

(your pallet may vary)

Knarly Head is pretty decent wine, regardless of this "celebrity"/GD branding/marketing placed on it. I strongly suspect that, just like the celebrity branding on Cannabis, it is the exact same wine they already produce and sell though, with an added price premium for the "packaging", for better or worse. Custie Up...or not.

Thought for sure this would be a PLF thread.

I may have bought a Gnarly Head wine in the past but don't remember. I don't buy wines much these days because I start the bottle and only have a glass or two and don't drink the rest. I do make red wine vinegar from what's left but I can only use so much red wine vinegar.

I wondered if it would be PLF thread, too, Mike.

A Gnarly Head hangover a.k.a. Cocksucker Blues..

get well soon?

Sadly, this is basically the same nonsense.

Always avoid wines that spend any money on marketing, are connected to a celebrity,  have pun names, or fancy labels.

Came across the Old Vine Zin at my local Safeway, cool label, $9.98. maybe bring a bottle to the  Thanksgiving festivities.

Haven't see the Cabernet...

Weird ~ I've seen only the Cab, not the Zin (with the better fancy label)

You'd be surprised how many "fine wines" are produced by one corporation with many brick and mortar wineries which share the juice / grapes from the same AVAs and vineyards. I worked for a corp that partnered with Gnarly Head on this. The corp which was involved in the production is also a producer of high end labels. I'd say for sure the branding is the main driver for this release, but at the cheap wine price point it's probably not bad at all.

Had a claret from Coppola that was tasty.

There you go. Same picture different frame.
