Optometrist said I probably have Glaucoma and need to go for further tests.
Anyone around here have Glaucoma? I guess if you can read this it's under control.
I have heard that the pots is good for the Glaucomas.
Is all that I smoke preventing blindness?

The MJ IOP reduction is
The MJ IOP reduction is minimal and short lived. The drops are effective and show long term efficacy.
Dont let it go, get the pressure checked regularly. The damage escalates very quickly if not addressed.
All the best Bluelight!

I got diagnosed by Optometrist at Costco. In front of me lady buying tires and behind me a dude buying cheese. Imagine that.
I have my own Board Certified Ophthalmologist that I obviously have been lapsed in seeing (3 years now)and I will call him Friday.
Can't wait for your visit, the weather is getting nicer and there's stuff to do on LI & NY.

I've had it since age 40 (had Graves Disease at the time which accelerated it), got cataracts & had surgery in left eye, then my retina detached & had it repaired, right eye is getting close to needing cataract surgery now & it's already partially detached. Once that happens I'll not be able to read or see anything up close anymore. Distance vision is not too bad (altho I've lost peripheral vision in both eyes) but up close is a nightmare. I haven't read printed matter in years (books, magezines, newspapers), I have to use a computer w/a large screen & zoom in on everything. One of the reasons I retired last year was the fatigue from doing my job which consisted of staring @ large computer screens full of engineering drawings all day. Am now trying to find some kind of field coordination job so I don't have to go back to that.
My advice - Keep the pressure down w/medications! Pot helps but not much (you have to smoke A LOT ALL THE TIME to match the effects of standard eye drop medications). If you are very nearsighted w/astigmatism (which I am) you are at higher risk of retinal detachment if you get the cataract surgery (they never told me that, I had to find it on the internet). Also always use sunglasses in bright sunlight, which aggravates the condition. If you get the cataract surgery TAKE SOME TIME OFF (a week if not 2) TO LET YOUR EYE RECOVER!!!!! They sent me back to work the next day & it hurt like hell for many days & my eye was all bloodshot, then my retina detached - I SWEAR the eye strain was a contributor to that.
I haven't bothered w/the medical mj card since I don't want to lose my pistol permit (yup I'm an armed blind guy!) nor do I want my name on any list Trump's minions may get ahold of. Besides, Mass is less than 40 miles away & it will be available in retail form there in less than 9 months.

I just about 2 months ago
I just about 2 months ago found out I have it also, began by having to go to Eye doc for a bout of scleritis ( very painful), now am told my pressure in eyes are 19 and 21 ( Bob freaked when he heard this as he has more experience with the numbers) and have glaucoma :(. Also that has led to being diag'd with Rheumatoid Arthritis now, and am being sent to Neurology and being checked for MS ( from a brain MRI they found white matter lesions)...what a mess !!
I too was given drops and feel like my vision is getting darker, my doc doesn't want me back until 6 mos, so I guess he is not too concerned. I am literally falling apart and feel my health is taking a dive to the bottom of the pool, fer sure ! It is pretty bad when you have to decide which disorder takes precedence over the others, turning 56 on monday and remembering how much healthier I was just 5 yrs ago, really kinda depressing !
I just want to Dance.... pain free !

Latanoprost = Xalatan = my
Latanoprost = Xalatan = my eyes always leak thick goo which sometimes congeals in my eyelashes overnight - so I sometimes have to peel my eyes apart in the morning. During the day I usually have a buildup of white goo at the bottom of each eye too, which sometimes slowly drips out in a thick gummy tear that fuses my glasses to my face. Not to mention my eyes are usually irritated & red, so I have a continual Steve Bannon/Donald Trump esque baggy lower eyelid condition.
