miss ya  gitmo

old school zoner

to know him, was to love him :)

the merriest of pranksters

I always loved the story someone told of him at a rib place, (if I remember right) when asked if he wanted a half rack or a whole rack he replied "Do I look like a half rack kind of guy?"

But the man could dance, along with air-guitar skills !  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLbNrbkHAYs

Gitmo stood next to me at my wedding.  He actually brought a television with him because the NY Jets were in the playoffs for the first time in awhile and he didn't want to miss the game.  I'm glad it was a blowout at halftime. I miss this mother fucker every day. I wish he would have seen his son Joshua grow into a young man.  Plus he would love Buck Showalter as the NY Mets coach even though he was a die hard Yankee fan.  I miss being able to talk with him about music, sports and our children  When my daughter was born he said to me, "I only have to worry about one prick, you have to worry about every prick".  If you knew him you understand.  Rest in peace my friend.  You are missed by many especially the one writing this.

I will always remember us sitting in the hotel the morning after the Further Barton Hall show planning some hang time in Boca Raton before that Furthur show. Alas, it wasn't to be and I never did get a chance to know him a bit better. I know this may sound a bit hippy dippy but I have a feeling that the essence of Gitmo lives on in the now pre-adolescent Dew Baby. Look out world.
