Georgia proves why Biden can't choose a black woman

Forums:

Any idiot who knows anything about Republican politics knows they will do everything possible to win this election like...

- Making it impossible for black people to vote with long lines  (hello Georgia & Wisconsin primaries)

- voting machine issues

- Trump's running a get-out the Klan vote campaign.

False. They will do that to ANY Democratic candidate. It makes no difference who it is.

Any state run by Republicans is going to be cheating like they've never cheated before.

But I thought they were all Christians and attend church?

>But I thought they were all Christians and attend church?

They are, they do...

took me 3 hours.  there at 3:15 out at 6:15.

the end of the line was where it was when i arrived.  polls supposed to close at 7pm

the three ladies processing id cards and distributing key cards were taking their time to chat and joke around with each other as multiple machines stood vacant.

a friend posted that at her polling place the printed ballot scanner wasn't working and they were told 'we'll scan them later'.  the vote isn't finalized until that ballot is scanned.

meanwhile in alpharetta, people were in and out within 10 minutes.

Surprised he made that announcement so early. I was pulling for Corey Booker.

^^ what announcement?

Val Demmings will not be the vp

why would long lines or technical issues impact black people more than white folks or other races? there are plenty of solid arguments in favor of structural obstacles to higher black/minority turnout, but long lines and technical issues? am i missing some kind of racial stereotype about how black people hate long lines or make poor IT technicians?

The voting hours, voting locations, supply of ballots, voting machines, and staff training are controlled by the counties.  You might want to look up which party those people are affiliated with before you start with your ridiculous conspiracy theories.

Of course, tha would take effort and intellectual honesty....

In September 2017, then-Secretary of State Kemp emailed with campaign advisors about a media report discussing efforts to correct a “string of problems” with county officials’ attempts to challenge the registration of hundreds of voters. The report concluded that “the errors may have violated federal law.” Mr. Kemp responded by congratulating his campaign team, writing, “Good work, this story is so complex folks will not make it all the way through it.” A top campaign staffer, David Dove, agreed that the article “won’t help draw eyeballs.”

And another:

In October 2017, after purging more than 500,000 voters from rolls, Mr. Kemp and Mr. Dove emailed on their personal accounts mocking a press release from a Democratic candidate warning that Georgia “is systematically deleting voters who have done nothing wrong” and that “Georgia is trying to make it harder to vote.” Mr. Dove forwarded the press release to Mr. Kemp, writing “us” with laughing emojis. Mr. Kemp replied, “us” with a smiling emoji.

thom you know damned well your party is the party of voter suppression. you know, if you want to talk about intellectual honesty. its not even close.

Intellectual honesty? Here’s 40 years worth rolled up:

“I don’t want everybody to vote, as a matter of fact, our leverage in the elections quite candidly goes up as the voting populace goes down.”-Paul Weyrich, 1980

”The things they had in there were crazy. They had things, levels of voting that if you’d ever agreed to it, you’d never have a Republican elected in this country again,”-DJT, Mar 30, 2020

“An expansion of absentee voting would be “extremely devastating to Republicans and conservatives in Georgia.”

- David Ralston, GA House Speaker Apr 1, 2020

eat shit thom

Thom invoking intellectual honesty is a special kind of lack of self awareness.

Thom

In your intellectual brain does the word "complicit" mean anything

Not explicitly intending to insult you, but honestly you have any moral values at all?

Do you have a confederate flag and a shotgun?

Please do not answer my question, for which there is not a big risk

As you've never answered one question in a year

How did that make you feel?   " Think " about it

OK here's the insult: just like trump how can one person who pretends to be so fucking smart be such a complete moron asshole?

God help us all

peace

Good idea, Thom. I went ahead and did the work for you.

Election Day problems are hardly new to Georgia, where Republican officials have overseen voting procedures that have led to hourslong lines, most recently during the 2018 governor’s contest, which Brian Kemp, a Republican who at the time was secretary of state and in charge of running the election, won by 50,000 votes over Stacey Abrams. Tuesday’s primary was also a test of the state’s preparations to hold an election during the coronavirus pandemic

>>Of course, tha would take effort and intellectual honesty....

Didn't take much of either, Thom, and an elipsis has three "dots," not four.

Boy, Thom, you're right about that intellectual honesty stuff. Here's some more:

The office of Brad Raffensperger, Georgia’s secretary of state, blamed Tuesday’s problems on a variety of factors, including a shortage of experienced poll workers because of fears about the coronavirus, and a learning curve in using the new machines

From the same article, Thom...turns out, it took hardly any effort or intellectual honesty to clarify your vague assertions about who runs the elections in Georgia...it's still Republicans!

But, this particular Republican indicates that other parts of the state--less populated by black folks--didn't experience similar problems.

Less than three hours later, Mr. Raffensperger called the situation in DeKalb and Fulton counties, which cover Atlanta, “unacceptable,” but he said the rest of the state was doing fine.

Thom

are you voting by mail?

( guilty of whack-a-mole / shooting fish in a barrel)

I'll bet Thom's putting in some serious effort right now. Let's give him some time. I'm sure the intellectual honesty with which he returns will be astounding.
