George Carlin - The Big Club

Forums:

The more things change the more they stay the same.

just like the founders intended

Amen.    Been watching and sharing that video for years!

But I have to say that it's way deeper than just the NRA and current Conservative backlash, and I truly hope that's not what the intended focus is here... <?>

The part about the news deciding what you get to see is key.    Carlin was SO ahead of his time.   We need him now.

What he said is so true.

My intention in posting was to remind people to think.

Think for yourself.

Love it, Judit!

Just afraid that some folks might choose to see a singular message in it, especially in the current climate... and miss the big picture.

LMAO ender.  "Mindless Hollywood cocksuckers"  Good stuff.    The next video that came up is awesome, too.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qn16DsftSjI

Love me some Carlin!    It will never not be relevant.

George Carlin is my hero!

Chuck Steak. Lol.

Stick through 2 mins of baby boomer humor and it gets to the real good stuff about politicians and our society.

That silly George, with his wild ideas and antics!   Always making us chuckle...

Of course that's all anyone's going to ever really do about the root problems besides argue and haggle about it, from what I can tell.   frownno

They laugh and then move right back into the trappings of our reality.    Sadly, I fear there is no desire for such thinking for most people, once they leave the comedy club or change the channel or go back to shopping and other life distractions.

Seems to be what Carlin conveyed. Trapped.

Are you guys telling people how to spend every hour of the day?

It's true... but even though the reality is shaped and built that way, the mentality is something many people seem to go or fall right into willingly, I feel.

Slack it's not so much about how people spend their day... it's about buying into/feeding the flawed system and teaching same to our children.

I think anyone who thinks about these things even semi-deeply would agree that we are on a damn shitty course and the end game is looking ugly.
