I was at both, decent shows but I remember being "not psyched" to see JGB in such a big place. After moving to MA in the mid 80s, great woods was like the playground but, this is when the JGB started to gain in popularity and the places got to big in my view. Used to see them at the Caldarone, or Tower Theater or the Capitol is Passaic and JGB was meant for more intimate environments.
^ Me too. I saw them at 1000 seater clubs and the move to arenas was not right for the JGB music imo which I always thought of as a bar band. They just couldn't IMO keep up the energy in a 20,000 seater. I only went to the 10/31/93 arena show. Never saw them before in such a huge place and never saw JGB again after that.. I think the time before that 10/31/93 show was Jerry on Broadway in 87. Would have loved to see those Warfield shows but was 3000 mile away.
My first Garcia/Saunders show in November of '74 was at the Tower but after moving to SF in the fall of '76 I got used to seeing him at the Keystone, so when he started playing places like the Spectrum it was a huge letdown.

Not a big fan of Clarence's style outside of the E Street Band but wanted to have this in the collection.

I agree on JBG arena shows,
I agree on JBG arena shows, not a good fit. The exception possibly being the 10-31-92 Oakland Arena gig. Felt right that night.
