Fuck James Harden

Forums:

As if there wasn't enough reason to dislike this guy.

Houston Rockets star James Harden has offered an apology as the controversy over general manager Daryl Morey's tweet of support for Hong Kong protesters continues to grow at a crucial time for the NBA in China.

Harden spoke while standing with teammate Russell Westbrook at a practice in Tokyo on Monday, three days after Morey posted a now-deleted tweet that read: "Fight for Freedom. Stand with Hong Kong."

"We apologize. You know, we love China. We love playing there," Harden said. "For both of us individually, we go there once or twice a year. They show us the most important love."

China / NBA relationship is worth billions

he’s an employee

what did you expect?

I expect him to STFU. He doesn't need to suck China's cock. Pretty sure without China Harden won't be homeless. It's also not the greatest look to point out all the social problems in the US while standing by a dictatorship

I'm certainly no fan of China's communist party but don't really put much stock in what Harden's take is on this.  I think the majority of Americans are pretty ignorant to what's going on and suspect similar numbers with the NBA players.  As Mice points out, he's an employee of the NBA which is benefiting massively from partnerships in China.  Not surprised.  I have enough to be outraged about at the moment.

>>>what did you expect?

he should have kept his mouth shut.

its amazing watching the NBA turn into communist boot-lickers over the weekend.

Obviously $$$ > human rights. Fucking disgusting.

Fuck China and fuck the NBA and James Harden on this one.

>>>>I'm certainly no fan of China's communist party but

good to know, thanks.

Shoe culture

The more important love = $$$$$

Let's see if Lebron speaks up about 'slave/master mentality'.

My most disliked NBA player gets away with the most bullshit

HahaaHahaaha NBA players opinions mean less than nothing, they're nutless monkeys.

Thanks jonas for clarifying what 'most important love' is.

Think I'll buy me a football team

What’s an nba

It’s the National Basketball Association do you have any more clown questions

unfamiliar with any of it. Spose it doesn’t impact me or my family, I’ll be outdoors playing with my kids, carry on

Or you’ll be here posting on the internet

>>NBA players opinions mean less than nothing, they're nutless monkeys

Sounds like some very thinly veiled racism.

Our internet works outside

Not that it matters but I certainly don't like his personality as well

 Bush league superstar

I thought that the 'who's Kim Kardashian?' posts were funny back in the day but 'what's an NBA' takes the cake.

I'm not a fan of Billie Elish(sp?) but I know she exists as a pop star.

Agreed on Harden - LLTD.

Baseball baby, greatest game ever invented

Razmataz called a black person a monkey.

Turtle lol

 curry = class

plays and lives joy

open eyes

He is in it for the money. fuck human rights....ect,ect.

I'd like Curry more if he would keep his mouthpiece in his mouth like everyone else.

It's a pretty strong testament to how solid Steph Curry is that the only thing people can hate him for is that he chews on his mouthpiece when he's shooting free-throws.

It's even better that he's one of the best free-throw shooters ever.

Carry on with the hate thread.

Angry white hate basketball and the players. They also hate Asians. Win win situation for El Niño

And the Chinese hate the blacks. It’s the circle of life.

Some fans at the Wizards game (against a Chinese team) last night had a sign saying "Google Uighurs".  Here's what happened to them.....

https://twitter.com/JonSchweppe/status/1182076217123586048?ref_src=twsrc...

“No political signs,” the security guy says — and to the extent we can read his body language, at least initially he doesn’t appear eager to enforce this edict. But when asked if he knows what the Uighurs are, he responds, “I’m not interested in having a political conversation.”

I presume he has never, as the sign recommended, googled to learn more about the Uighurs. There are anywhere from one million to two million Uighurs in concentration camps in Western China. Human rights organizations have detailed that those camps are rife with torture, abuse, rapes, forced abortions, and sterilizations. The Chinese government is destroying traditional Uighur burial grounds and paving over their graveyards. The Chinese government is attempting to completely erase Uighur culture; what we are witnessing is a slow-motion state-sponsored genocide.

But arena staff, presumably taking their instructions from Wizards owner Ted Leonsis and/or the NBA as a whole, believed “Google Uighurs” is too political a sign to have at the game. The Washington Wizards have welcomed and saluted Joe Biden at their games, but that wasn’t too political. Players wore “I can’t breathe” t-shirts after Eric Garner’s death, but that wasn’t too political. (Apparently the NBA is fine with protesting American police brutality, but not Hong Kong police brutality.) The Miami Heat wore hoodies in warmups “in solidarity with Trayvon Martin” in 2012, and two years earlier, the Phoenix Suns wore “Los Suns” jerseys to protest that controversial Arizona immigration law. So clearly some forms of political protest are not merely tolerated or accepted but endorsed by NBA teams.

But any protest relating to China is unacceptable.

Yeah the NBA pulled the all star game from North Carolina because of their “bathroom bill”.

BUT DON’T DISS COMMUNIST CHINA!!

it’s insane

Free Speech was before we made America Great Again.

Uighurs are being imprisoned for up to 30 years just for praying. But there are  300,000,000 basketball fans in China. $13 billion over 5 years for streaming services,  I believe. And then there are the shoe deals...

The NBA is learning the same lesson regarding China that other American businesses have learned...access requires acquiescence.

Anybody catch the Nets/Lakers game from Shanghai?

i'm getting real tired of china and russia, they are like even bigger assholes than us.

Lol

well saiid

Why does everyone think it's the nba players job to diss China lol. They are being paid to go there and play. Unless they come out and say that they support communism they are just being set up for a narrative by answering questions about politics. It's the nba and their administration that should be answering those questions. I've never been a huge fan of harden as a player but I've never had a reason to hate the guy for anything. China isn't the issue either. Americans hate China when 90% of their items they own were produced there lmao.

Dub for china

China's the worst

*types on phone made in china*

I liked this letter from Steph Curry.  On some level this is nothing more than we should expect from a dad and a public figure today, but I found it full of gratitude and dreams and support.
