FS 1 tix for The Bizarre World of Frank Zappa...

Forums:

My buddy has some medical issues and will not be able to attend the show.

I have a single for the Count Basie theater in Red Bank  on 4/22...orch center row h...face &fees were $82.50...make an offer, if you want.

Damn...i wish i could ,i  just researched a train (car off road at moment) , and i think its over 4 hours , even just from Ct, and i gotta work til 5 Monday, or else i would def be interested! We need to do a show together...aru you doing any cap phil/jorma? Or better yet...willies outlaw fest on a sunday 6/16 , you should come up....

maybe even the phish....are u going any? Spac and jersey are possibilities....sooo many shows and fests this summer...hope all is well, and hope your friend is ok

Hey, Jambone,  i have tix for phish in Camden on fri 6/28. I have two tix, one is for my buddy who has bailed on the john prine and the zappa shows, so there is the possibility he may bail on phish...that  would leave me with an extra.

No phil/jorma for me. Jorma solo acoustic would  be tempting.

Kids are in school until the third week of june, so no road trips on a school night.

Things are well enough, Jambone. We're gearing up for summer, my son is looking for his first job, we're trying to encourage my daughter to volunteer at the dog/cat rescue up the road, and I've been a power washing fool.

My friend should be ok, just dealing with cronic issues, and he has an infant at home. It is not easy for him.

Hope all is well with you.

Saw it last night at The Cap, was not impressed. It was not a total flop, but some parts were pretty bad.  Mostly cheesy graphics with the occasional Hollow-Frank thrown in, Joe Travers and Mike Keneally were the stars. I wish they used Ray White more. The band was well rehearsed, but the music had to be in step with the graphics. But sometimes the graphics were just live video feed of the band playing, totally unnecessary. I really liked The Dangerous Kitchen, and Apostrophe' was really well done, so was Farther O'Blivion (not Father O'blivion). Dinah-Moe Hum was horrible, and next when Ahmet came out to sing, I left after 5 minutes, so no, I did not stay to the end. I am probably in the minority, most of the audience (99% guys) seemed to enjoy it. But is was a real meat-in-the seat show. Most material was from the Roxy/One Size Fits All era, which is not a bad thing, but to me the Roxy thing is played out. I was glad I went, because I HAD to know what the deal was, but I will not return.

The rubber FrankFurter squeeze toy at the merch table pretty much sums the whole thing up for me. A rubberized 4 inch Zappa as a hot dog on a bun, made kind of like a dog's chew toy. The squeezy whistling noise might be fun for a while, but sooner or later you just want it to stop.

>> We need to do a show

hahaha

Good to hear, T, things are good here as well....keep me posted on that phish ticket...

>>>Joe Travers and Mike Keneally were the stars

saw this coming a mile away!

this whole thing, imo, is an overpriced excuse for those 2 guys to b finally able to play a full set of FZ together.

at least Ahmet had the good sense to make them the musical focal point, shame he had to shackle them to this whole superfluous holographic jubilee concoction that may appear a little flashy right now but will no doubt b painfully outdated within a couple years judging by how fast tech evolves these days.

thanks for the review, uncmozo.

sorry it wasn't your cup of jazz discharge.

i'm interested to see what the west coast leg is gonna look like.

TY for the review Jerry, much appreciated

>>>>I really liked The Dangerous Kitchen,

i don’t read that often!
