A very good show. It was a full moon as well.

(First photo not mine)

My AC took a dump today, but it was only a $26 capacitor for the fix and not a $1200 compressor. Yes!!  And at 8:18pm on every F13,  i drink and smoke in celebration of a major meltdown i had at that moment that basically saved my life. Just didn't see it at the time.

Friday the 13th, Full Moon, Democratic National convention at Moscone Ctr and Dark Star encore. That's as weird as it gets!

I had a cosmic drive from Portland > Crystal Bay since yesterday... all this stuff happened:

1) Stopped for dinner in Oakridge, OR and happened upon a good Portland band, Seeet & Juicy, Phish-influenced bit with fruit -costumes.

2) Drove through a trippy sideways snowstorm and a weird layover stop in Klamath Falls.

3) Stopped by a cop on the most desolate highway in Cali...totally bogus. I argued my case and won.

4) Minor incident in a car wash in Reno.

Now on to the shows!

...care to share the CA cop story?

I think I'd prefer to hear about the car wash incident.

I want more on the weird layover stop in Klamath Falls.cool

Glad your day went smoothly, LLOLLO.

Mine was more like Weird Load Friday.  This week has been somewhat of my own version of Dante's Inferno since I got back from New Orleans.

Did you make it thru do little?

Slow Saturdays for you guys, huh?

LOL, if more Zoners did solo road trips, you too would have funny experiences like mine to share....

Cop story:  Route>

This is Hwy 139 running through a series of high elevation valleys created by volcanic activity. New road for me and since my host in K Falls told me she had read it is Cali's most desolate highway, I was psyched! Was fully prepared for any situation. Figuring very few cops in this area, I puffed a bowl for what I knew would be a cool scenery.... and the drive was cool, it was like spiraling in and out and f neighboring craters at 4-6K elevations.

I have never seen such an over-monitored road in my life!  Even though absolutely every car and moto rider was cruising over the speed limit and passing frequently on the 2-lane road, it was me who got picked by Mr Chatty Police Officer.  By the time I asked him too many questions and told him some stories, he reduced my citation to driving only 5 miles over the speed limit....and he said he'd look the other  way regarding that my new Cali tabs hadn't  arrived in the mail yet prior to my trip. (oops)

Mike you asked about my most embarrassing story, good intuition:  I love going through the car wash and often shoot photos of the soap art on my windows, LOL.  The car was crusted with bugs from that drive.  When I realized I could not go to the Basque restaurants (too early), I found a car wash and skipped the meal.   In my excitement, I forgot to put the car in neutral once in those tracks, which caused me to propel forward too quickly, miss the rinse, and tapped the rear of the car in front of me... I literally couldn't see the car in front of me because my windshield was covered with those blue octopus scrubbers. I was so annoyed with myself on this one, as now I had wait with the driver in front of me to file a report and exchange info.  The kid said not to worry since his car had peeling paint anyways... my car had only left 2 tiny marks from the screw caps on my license plate.  Phew!  Then they let me go through the wash a second time due to the missed rinse.

OK enough for now, need to get ready for Zero night 1 tonight!

At least you caught a great Zero show last night. I caught the stream.

From April till July 1984 was some of the best Jerry playing I ever saw. He was tearing and shredding it up big time.
