Free Thunder and Lightning webcast from TXR

Forums:

Tonight (Tuesday, May 22), bassist Phil Lesh and guitarist Stu Allen will present their latest “Thunder & Lightning” concert at Terrapin Crossroads’ Grate Room in San Rafael, California. If you can’t make it to Terrapin Crossroads for the sold-out show in person, there’s an option to watch from home or wherever you have an internet connection..

nugs.tv will host a webcast of this evening’s Thunder & Lighting performance live from Terrapin Crossroads. The livestream can be viewed on nugs.tv and YouTube free-of-charge. Phil and Stu will be joined by guitarist Scott Metzger (Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, WOLF!), multi-instrumentalist Jason Crosby (The Terrapin Family Band) and drummer Jay Lane (Primus, RatDog) on Tuesday night. The webcast is expected to start at 8 p.m. PT and is the first from Terrapin Crossroads to air on nugs.tv.

Thanks for the heads-up, Judit!

Very good news!

Maybe they'll start selling SBD's as well...

Nice, thanks for the info.  I miss those thumb drives, many TXR shows in the last year that I would have grabbed if they were available.

“Do not miss this one and only opportunity to see Phil and Stu plus some amazing musical guests play in the comfort is your own home FOR FREE!  We are testing out some new streaming equipment, so we will be offering this stream for free. Take a peek in the Grate Room tonight and see this sold out show on your home television.”

Noice!

Could do with more Phil in the mix.

If you're in the room I'm sure Phil's levels are fine.

Streams are nice, but they're not shows.

They're just streams.

They don't tell the tale.

good Bass there,  uToob keeps buffering for me.

I know what they all look like already.  Audio only's fine.

Not as if they have naked Fire Jugglers &  Rhinoceros parade.

Thanks, Dr. Disclaimersmiley

This stream beats the pants off Timmy’s dryer lint firestarters

Is it really low in volume for anyone else ?

It was high volume at first and now it is low.  Hope they get it back up.

Back up!  Sounds great now.

I refreshed when it stalled and the volume dropped by half.

Yeah, sorry for the lecture.

It's actually just odd that I'm not there, and listening to the stream here at home it's just so noticeable to me how different the sound is compared to the room.

This sounds good though. A fine jam in Alligator and a nice Deal here.

Just another Tuesday night in San Rafael.

TxR is a rockin' enterprise, and it's going strong.

Far out!

Long live TxR!!!

LONG LIVE PHIL LESH!!!

Sounds good from my perspective.

I often enjoy various Mixlr streams,  but they vary in quality.  This one is excellent.

Some of the streamers just do a fantastic job.

Thanks,  Mr. Busterdog.

Hi Peak, I’m sure it does :-)

>>TxR is a rockin' enterprise, and it's going strong.

I haven’t kept up in a long time and was amazed at all the gigs scheduled there when I just checked the calendar.  And almost no family band.

coolness. thx!

And the music from the bar now, during set-break, is its own thing. Liking it, too, as I come and go by the computer.

Okay, maybe not the music from the bar...

This seems to be a nugs.tv test.  I'm sure the next one won't be free.  How much would you pay for this sort of thing of at all?

i like this jam by bar dudes

I do as well, fly.  They got a name?

Jordan Feinstein on keys, Ezra Lipp (drums) Brian Rashap (bass), Steve Pile and Michael Rosen on guitars.  No name band, hired for the night, that's how it often goes at TXR.  Quite the Crossroads!  I wish Ezra were drumming with Stu and Phil next door, he's my fave drummer at the moment...

$10 - $15 per show, depending on line-ups.  They look and sound good by stream standards, albeit a few bugs tonight...

Thanks petar

Nugs needs to step up the mix. Phil was too low, and in general the audio quality could be better but nonetheless I enjoyed the webcast on a night I couldn’t attend in person.

its not difficult to get a good mix on a stream if someone throws a pair of headphones on a turns a few knobs it’s amazing what one could do

its not rocket science

Is it me or was that Alligator superbe or not? Just checkin in after 120hr week...missed the shoe, but hey this is  Whai I Cll Mornin' Cafe......thanks Phil

>>France, although my wife thinks bobby should be singing.LIG

Yes, LIG but I hope Bobby never tries to sing France!!

I enjoyed the stream quite a bit despite the volume problems. In fact, it was one of the best Phil shows I've seen in streaming mode since the demise of the GD. I haven't always liked Scott playing with Phil, but at this gig he was on fire. Phil, Stu, and Jason were their usual bad-ass selves, but I was particularly impressed with Jay Lane, believe it or not. I've been pretty critical of Jay in the past for his lack of swingability and nuance, but he had both in spades last night.

However, I haven't paid for a stream since 1987 and I prob. won't pay for any of these if Nugz goes on to sell them in the future.

more of this band please.

The show is still available (not sure for how long) here:

Enjoyed listening to this one a whole Bunch.

Amazing how Phil & Friends sound waaaaay better when he gets together  with top-notch musicians !!

Happens almost every time.

Although I recognize the growth potential of TFB,  I'm not about to spend a Hundy for a Central Park show.  Maybe in a few years devil

But last night's lineup or similar would entice me up to NYC on a nice Day.  Throw in an opening Band and "Hello !! Senior Discount !! "

Watching the instant reply.

Nice group of characters in this band.

Three nights at the Cap with this band and David Nelson band as the opener could bring world peace. Or at least help us get though the week should world peace fail to materialize...

Mr. Phil Lesh looks amazing!
