Frank Zappa 10 31 1980 The Palladium New York City

Forums:

Dweezil Zappa is playing the Paramount in Huntington in few weeks and there is a 50/50 chance I will get to see show.

I was inspired to make this new video by that & some of the Zappa fans here that share the goodies they listen to.

The only time I saw Frank was at this 10.31.1980 show

I have had the audio of this show since 2003 & the video slide show version that was posted on YouTube in 2012 isn't enjoyable to me for various reasons. So, I took a crack at it.

I used Audacity to clean up the audio & boost the bass by 4.6 decibels. It did the trick.

This upgraded audio is now overdubbed on a new 1980 Frank slide show I just made, starting with the only known high resolution photograph of this concert & some other 1980 Zappa stuff.

It's pretty good. Play it, when you are the mood for some Frank Zappa. This will remain published, it passed the copyright sniff test

I was at Radio City that evening my friends that went to Frank said he made some comments about The amount of $$ The tickets to The Grateful Dead were or something along those lines.

Looking forward to watching this. Bluelight your contributions are very much appreciated.

Thanks man. The whole process (which bye the way went smooth and took less the 2 hours to do) brought back some vivid details for me (and You I see too).

My friends are Dead heads with a narrow scope of music. I could not give that second ticket away. I took a neighbor...

We went to Radio City before the show to party. We took a cab downtown to the Palladium for the Zappa show. It was much colder that night, then the prior 2 weeks in NYC.

I finally caught Frank at The Beacon on Feb. 6, 1988. I registered to vote at the show.

That is an amazing looking show!

I have seen ZPZ a handful of times and the last time Zombie Wolf was worth the price of admission alone.

My Zappa shows were in Cleveland in 1981, 1982, and 1988 + Columbus 1988.

Frank Zappa the Revenge of Stinkfoot a Mini Movie

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Emxi1SSXoZA

The front portion of this video, is a slide show I made of Frank Zappa with upgraded audio overdubbed from a portion of a wickedly good Frank Zappa show from Basel Switzerland in 1974.

All that to color up 2 small BBC interviews with Frank Zappa that had not been widely seen yet.

Deadly, it's too bad you missed the EPIC '84 FZ show at the (now long gone) Front Row Theater in Highland Heights - NE of Cleveland.

I am sure it was done previous to this particular show and of course after it, but Frank wore a strap on dildo (that some one tossed to him from the crowd) on his head with the strap cinched up while the band substituted the lyrics to Why Does It Hurt When I Pee with references to the plastic appendage...   That was just one of the that night's many bizarre happenings.

Treble, sounds EPIC!

I missed that show and the one in Columbus in 1984.

I was being a good college student and skipped them in order to study. Ha!

I should have gone to the shows....indecision

I was a student at College of Woo in Woo, OH and went with a bunch of pals from there to the Front Row.....

And the '84 Zappa band was fanastic!
