Forgiveness

Forums:

Sadly lacking in so many places. Too many places.

It's like the world has forgotten how.

Even if, even if you don't love me anymore.

Agreed 6. I'm trying to understand it. One to one, not as hard.

But it's gonna take me a long while until I can figure out how to forgive the occupant for the devastation he has brought upon this country and it's people. Seeing the makeshift morgues being set up in New York City didn't help at all.

His narcissism is such a barrier on that journey. If there was just one iota of empathy, or any sense of culpability and responsibility. Not sure what I need from him, but I'm not seeing whatever it is.

Anger this profound is unchartered territory for me. I have to retreat to my "There's only so much much you can do" and "No one gives a shit what you think" mode.

As a great man once wrote,

"For a heart stained in anger grows weak and grows bitter. You become your own prisoner as you watch yourself sit there wrapped up in a trap of your very own chain of sorrow." I don't wanna go there.

Just my feelings this morning. Flame away. BTW, what prompted this thread? Where do you see a lack of forgiveness that can be rectified?

"... is the key to every door".

(Hey, Sixer.)

Unique trait not all possess. Any degree of it I have I learned from my saintly mom God bless her.

Can't start to wonder why it's not more popular, that's a head scratcher.

Our leader don't know the meaning of the word used in any context.

It's a wonderful thing to practice, fills you up with joy.

Well, first of all, Trump never forgives anyone. Never,

Still -  it's not just him.

But now it's getting late - and the moon is climbing high...

Don't go 'round tonight
It's bound to take your life

'I say forgive them Lord they know not what they've done'

I heard once that All is Forgiven, so I figure I'm good to go.

^ Yeah Pete confirms it at the end of A Quick One While He's Away ---

" You Are All Forgiven "

Father, forgive us for what we must do.

You forgive us, we'll forgive you.

We'll forgive each other til we both turn blue.

Then we'll whistle and and go fishing in heaven.

- John Prine  "Fish and Whistle"

i forgive you all

Who did you fuck over this time?

That version of A Quick One While He's Away from The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus is one of the coolest things ever.

And Raz, don't razz me about the lack of a link.

If people want to find it, they will.

As for forgiving, I am not yet at the point where I can "forgive all."

I'm not really sure that I ever want to be.

'I say forgive them Lord they know not what they've done'<<<

It's one thing if it's over and done, but quite another if they're still doing it - or have the capacity to rinse and repeat.

I can forgive in mid-stride, but boundaries are quite another story; likewise, about spinning wheels in sand on this front;  no explanation or mutual agreement is necessary to enact said boundaries.

Tell me about it
