Water's coming down like crazy everywhere, but this flash flood in this drainage is amazing.
We had to skedaddle out of a drainage one night in the Grand as our tents were getting flooded but it was nothing like this. I'll post his comments. I sifted through the thread so you don't need to.

"Night one on our grand canyon trip. We had just set up our kitchen and unloaded all of our gear. Minutes later, the drainage flashed. The most powerful thing I've ever seen. Like a d5 avalanche that continued for 8 hours and carried horses, cows, and fridge sized rocks.
Yes everyone is safe. Quite the wake up to how real flash floods are. We were standing in that area scouting tent sites just a couple minutes before it erupted.
Did the horses and cows survive? No. We saw corpses in the river the next day which we are confident came down from above in this event
Mile 16.5
We were standing right there and a couple of us saw the first wall of water and screamed. That beach was our planned camp for the night. We left our stuff and got on boats to make an assessment of the scene and do a headcount. We changed our campsite selection after this."
And for those familiar with Moab and the Canyonlands area, Moab got hit the other night. Big damage.
