Father John Misty's Pure Comedy Album

Forums:

Came out a couple weeks ago.

very impressive: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DzLt-11Glzg

But are there any original ideas?

And is it folk music?

I see what you did there, Lance.

I don't know the answer to those questions lance but, for the record, this is a better album than Kendrick lamar's 'DAMN.'

My favorite part of it, is the song in the middle where he blatantly makes fun of himself, the indie folk scene, all of his followers/fans, and his impending demise.

I'm trying with all these newer hipster bands (this guy, Bon Iver, etc) but to me right now they all sound very similar to a milder version of My Morning Jacket, with the high pitched whiny singing and dirge-like pacing of the songs.  Yes I know other bands like Spoon & War on Drugs & that band w/Horses in the name I can't think of right now have been doing this for awhile.  As with MMJ, while I like the instrumentation and sound, the high pitched whine & dirge like pace must be an acquired taste & I'm not "there" yet . . . I will say I really enjoyed that pairing of the MMJ guys w/Ray Lamontagne last year.

There's a festival lineup I'd travel for

I plan on attending Sat or Sun of this Hipster festie (provided it doesn't rain), more of a diverse lineup tho:

Please be sure to refer to it as such to all of the concert attendees around you while there, Sidebob.

& I will be sure to call out my fellow Meat In Your Seat-ers @ Peach Fest
