The Expanse

Forums:

anybody out here read this?  Several books available.

or into the tv series? On syfy, I think.

I read most of the books before I was aware of the tv thing.

Good space opera. not overly technical. Believable, thanks to the Epstein drive . The characters are great, and for the most part the casting is spot on

Oh.  Not another Chris Christie thread?

Carry on.

I guess not. oh well

My son recommended I get on this. Started watching season 1 about 4 weeks ago. I actually thought the storyline was quite detailed.  The relationship  dynamics between Earthlings, Martians and the various  Belter  factions was difficult to grasp. The various accents did not help. In fact after watching the first 6 episodes I realized I could not connect the dots so I watched them all again and it  began to fall in place. The graphics and visual effects are brilliant.  Now In preparation for the 2nd season they put together a 20 minute behind the scenes "recap" hosted by big time fan Adam Savage of Mythbusters called "The Expanse:Expanded".  This was enlightening and almost essential in tying it all together before starting season 2.  And like most good series it gets better and better.
