Just a heads-up for dog owners with a Big Lots nearby. Quality product at a great price (about $1.25/lb. for the kibble). They had the Salmon/Sweet Potato and the other grain-free kibble that they produce. Stuff is made in the USA and company hasn't had many recalls over the years.
Big Lots has items that are always in stock and odd things that you only see once. This is the latter. For example, they had some Organic soda from italy that was delicious, but only for a few weeks. I'll never see it again, but two different ones had it.
Most of the pet food they sell is typical chain-store krap, with corn & meat by-products. But I've gotten some quality grain-free cans in the past.

I'm not selling Dog Food. No
I'm not selling Dog Food. No affiliation with the Evolve company or any of the other brands of grain-free kibble which he likes; Castor & Pollux, Merrick, Wellness, Blue Wilderness, some others.
Some of those cost 3-4 bucks per lb. Let's say your two Great Danes eat 20 lbs. per week. If you're spending $1.25 per lb. instead of $3.25 / lb. that would equal a 40 dollar savings each week. That is $2080.00 in a typical 52 week year.
That amount of $$ is sufficient to purchase the occasional Steak or Pork Chop to share with your Great Danes.

Yeah no that's cool, I'm not affiliated with record labels. Let's say you buy 100 albums a year, album on average is let's say $17 (conservative), you save BIG buying used. Basically email me I'll hook you up. Thanks for opening the door Stu. Sick thread.

So I went and got one bag of
So I went and got one bag of the 'Salmon & Sweet Potato' grain-free Evolve kibble. $18 for a 12-lb. bag or $1.50/lb, not bad.
The other flavor of grain-free is Turkey-something, but you get 14 lbs. for the same price, about $1.29/lb.
I did read online reviews before purchasing. Mostly positive, and many say that the Salmon-Sweet Potato stuff helped clear up their Dogs' skin allergies and digestive problems. So when the current stock runs low I'll open the new Evolve bag and rotate that flavor in, see how the Dog likes it. BTW the expiration date is in Autumn sometime.
Oh, and the Evolve company has a 'Max-Points' like scheme too. Buy enough kibble, send in the bar-code and you can get a Frisbee or a Hat or coffee mug.

Not really interested in a
Not really interested in a USA original ITD as it was lacking 'My Brother Esau'. I have the official-release cassette that includes 'MBE' but no way I'd ever sell it, even if I could locate it.
So anyway to keep it in perspective, I like to get the high-grade Kibble that makes up most of Hüsky's diet. It is full of protein & fat in the right proportions and laced with vitamins, minerals and digestive aids. Also, it's easily transportable when we travel somewhere. On the other hand, some of the stuff is 4-5 bucks per pound.
Yesterday I picked up some Human-grade ground Turkey for $1.25 per pound, which we can both eat. While he's been enjoying the Turkey, I'm not about to carry it around if we take a ride somewhere. For now I'm sticking with a grain-free Kibble base with the blend-in of canned meat or People-grade meat.
Every vet Dawg's visited has commented upon his good health, and I explain that I've been avoiding low-grade kibble with Soy, Wheat, Corn and by-products.

Years back I went into a Big Lots and found some lollypops called Bruise Pops.
They were blueish-purple and looked like a bruise. Tasty too.
I grabbed a couple large boxes and used them for rewards at school.
When they were gone...they were gone.
Holy Grail of suckers...
