Essen 1990

Forums:

My first Europe show. Saw all German shows in 90.Thought Berlin was the best but watching this video Jerry seems the most energetic and flamboyant at this show which I didn't remember being so.

81 wasn't too shabby either. Sugaree will make you smile. Animated Jerry is on it.

I did the whole Europe '90 tour and Essen was my favorite complete show.

>>>Saw all German shows in 90<<<

Recently I heard someone say that seeing the same old band over & over is lame and stupid.

Must be just another sailor on the ship of fools.

Lance that was 31 years ago. My second to last time seeing the band and Bobby. Next and last time I saw them was the last show of summer tour in 94. With Traffic opening. Never seen Bobby or Bill since. So chew on that!

Plus it was EUROPE man!!!

Such great memories of Europe 90.  This was my last GD Tour as I just graduated from college and started fulltime work. I managed to get on the “official GD Europe Tour” which included roundtrip tickets into Stockholm and out of London, Eurorail Pass and great seats to every show. Such vivid memories of the terminal in JFK filled with deadheads, wound up connecting with cool Virginia head Craig (if you are reading this, would be great to reconnect).   Catching the Dead  in smaller venues combined with late night train rides, and European fun, food and drink made this tour a great way to end my touring life with the GD.

Thanks for the Essen show link.

Nice show Doc
I would have to concur with Lance

Well the German shows had a lot of songs played only once on that tour. I think all the other shows were repeats?

And first night Berlin is perfect.
