The Electric Light Orchestra Story...

Forums:

A book by Bev Bevan, ELO drummer (formerly 'The Move' drummer).  Found a pair of the trade paperbacks going through a crate of old stuff.  To my surprise, they are going for 70-90 buxx on Amazon.

I seem to remember purchasing a handful of these at some 'remainder' book store years ago. Maybe I gave away some as gifts.

Anyway, at the time I thought 'obscure rock books always turn into collectibles'. So if you run across a copy, grab it for the resale factor.

Of course, it's full of charming ELO tales wink

Very cool. ELO was my first concert in 1977. Bev is great & that book seems cool.

I have a 1971 Santana Sheet/Music song book that is priceless to me. Interweaved are unreleased until then (still) photographs of the Santana band from Golden Gate Park in '71with a very young Neal Schon & tye dyed Fender amps.

David Chase and the heavy water light show did the art work. 3 years ago there was a copy on eBay for $300.

Here is the cover if you ever see it, grab it. It has the absolute prefect transpositions of Carlos's music (first 3 albums) hand written by Carlos him self.

ELO was awesome in their beginnings. I saw them open for Deep Purple and they stole the show.  Saw them early on a second time and blew me away also. Back when they had the guy on Cello.  They really were a great band.  Then they changed. No Cello and garbage pop music. Never saw a band change so much.

Saw them in 1978 when they had the Spaceship / Giant Clam stage rig, and thought it was a great show. They had the Cellist then. Maybe it was "Out of the Blue" tour.

Only familiar with Wilbury stuff and whatever was on the radio back yonder.

My resident advisor in college absolutely loved that band.  He couldn't speak highly enough of them.

He also had a debate with a woman about which was better:  cocaine or LSD.  Her point was, "With cocaine, you remember everything you did and don't see hallucinations."  His point was, "With LSD, you don't wake up and want to do it again immediately."

ELO memories.

Big Fan of Older ELO !
